Accenture Ends Sponsorship of Tiger Woods

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Published: December 13, 2009

Global consulting firm Accenture Ltd. has ended its relationship with Tiger Woods, marking the first major sponsor to cut ties altogether with the golfer since his alleged infidelities surfaced and he announced an indefinite leave from the sport to work on his marriage.

In its first statement since the Woods' scandal erupted, Accenture said Sunday the golfer is ''no longer the right representative'' after the ''circumstances of the last two weeks.'' The move ends a six-year relationship during which the firm credited its ''Go on, be a Tiger'' campaign with boosting its image significantly. Accenture has used Woods to personify its claimed attributes of integrity and high performance.

''After careful consideration and analysis, the company has determined that he is no longer the right representative for its advertising,'' Accenture said, adding that ''it wishes only the best for Tiger Woods and his family.''

It was reported on TV last night that Madoff Investments will be a new sponsor.

Tiger’s sexual affairs will end up being some of the most expensive romps in the history of the world.

If he wanted to cheat on his wife he could have paid high priced hookers $10,000 a pop and saved millions of dollars.
No eMails, no sex texts, no recorded phone calls, no P.O.’d ex-lovers and no audit trails - just a straight business transaction.

They aren’t supporting him. They are choosing to continue their relationship of having him represent their company.

Do Swedes care about marital fidelity?

Not only right financially... He is the greatest hero that has fallen the farthest - from adoration to revulsion...

He deserves absolutely NO respect for his golf game when he is such an asshole! I now despise him!

Actually they don't which leads me to believe that Woods overstepped his bounds of acceptable infidelity with his wife..........When she found out about the excesses, the proverbial crap hit the fan..........

That's just my theory, nothing more, nothing less.........

I’m guessing she doesn’t care about the cheating. She cares about the loss of money and embarrassment in the public eye.

Nike has the most difficult call to make, because so much of their product line is inextricably linked to his name and image. Many of the rest will make the easy decision to back out quietly. If you want a laugh see: http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/news/story?id=4713202 I disagreed with it the moment I saw it on 12/4, and intervening events have made its author look foolish. But then, ESPN and the sports media world are carrying a lot of water for Tiger.

Heh...liked their headline “Woods in no danger of losing Sponsors”... Do they take the people out in middle America for goofballs? Yes, I not only think that they do, but they actually plan on it (Goofballs they are, but hey, it’s only advertising)...

Yes...they will try to bring back his brand, but it will not resonate with middle America...what to do, well just swamp the TV channels with his image maybe...hehe... All this will do is ingrain in the minds of those that actually know about his past or make those that do not know wonder (and the internet is a wonderful resource)...

That could very well be, hopefully we'll never know.....I would just as soon this whole thing be left up to Woods and his wife to work out.

The MSM certainly isn't helping their situation at all and they appear to be, no, not appear, but actually are trying to continue the Woods controversy with no regard to the wife and children, with every scandilous article they scrape off the gutter floor now..........

The whole F'n world now knows that he cheated on his wife, that should be enough! The world does not need to know the extra slimy details.........
