Tiger Woods' wife Elin will separate from the golfing superstar after Christmas, a UK tabloid has claimed.
Quoting an unnamed close friend of Elin, the News of the World newspaper said the 29-year-old former Swedish model plans to return to Sweden and was in talks with divorce lawyers.
But she would spend Christmas with her golfing husband for the sake of their two children, it was reported.
"In the short-term they'll act like any other loving couple," the newspaper quoted the friend as saying.
"Elin won't break it all up right away. But she does need some time alone to herself and a legal separation will happen very quickly."
The couple have two children, one aged two and the other 10 months old.
Woods’ public image has taken a battering over the past two weeks, with claims he has had 12 mistresses during his five-year marriage to Elin and has spent $65,000 on prostitutes.
Just yesterday Woods’ main sponsor Gillette said it would be "limiting" the role of one of the world’s richest sportsman.
In a statement last Friday Woods admitted he had been unfaithful and said he was taking an indefinite break from golf to focus on his family.
Meanwhile one of Tiger Woods' mistresses, Jamie Jungers, had told how she had sex with him on the night his father died.
Jungers said she had waited for Woods at his home while he went to visit his father in a hospice in May, 2006.
"When he came back [a few hours later], I could see he was preoccupied and worried about his dad but when we went to bed he still wanted to have sex as usual," Jungers told News of the World.
Woods then got a call saying his cancer stricken father Earl, 74, had died.
"We went to sleep. I was beside him wearing nothing but a pair of panties. Then at about 3am the phone rang. It was Tiger's mum," Jungers said.
"She called to tell him that his dad had passed away. Tiger looked utterly devastated and didn't say a word. He didn't even cry but I could tell he was heartbroken."
Jungers said her six-month affair with Woods ended after he refused to lend her money. "He's a cheap f***er and he just didn't want to help me," she said.

This is a man who had no intention of living married life with anyone.
Elin should get an annulment.

I’d say her lawyers need the time to transform her pre-nup into a post-nup alimony/child support settlement.

Are you kidding? This guy was never home and cheated on her non stop. How is that good for the children? Moving back to Sweden with her kids and getting a divorce will save those kids.
Annulment would benefit Tiger, so there won’t be one. Although the point that he never intended to live up to his wedding vows is well taken.
Kids from divorced parents DO have challenges....but so do kids from adultering parents.....Elin could find a committed man who actually wants to be a father and husband, not just a self centered stud.
Let's have a contest to see who can be the most self-centered. Tell me, Mrs. Woods, if you think it would be a bummer for the kids not to have their Dad this Christmas, how about for a lifetime? He's a slug, but you're a preening ass in your own right.
You know that the kids know what you don't know: Family is forever. Your childrens' lives will not be improved by your going Tiger one better by exploding your family, in revenge for the humiliation you have suffered. What will be improved—and will that make divorce a worthwhile exchange for your kids' lives? Let us know when you have an answer. A good example is the best revenge. As opposed to proving you're just a more expensive version of those other dames.
Is there evidence that Tiger was paying or gifting any of these women?
One gets the impression she has already gotten more from him than she bargained for. Like an infection.

If she is planning to move to Sweden with the children, then they are not staying together over the holidays for the sake of the kids. Either she needs to tighten up the legal right to take the kids out of the country, or she has some TV or book deal to button down.
Unfortunately, she might end up with the male equivalent, with $$ in their eyes because of the divorce settlement, which will be in the hundreds of millions.
Come to think of it, the Swedish government is probably thinking $$ once Elin gets her settlement.
