Credit card reform kicks in Feb. 22, but it won't matter to these 5 readers. They cut up their cards and are going debt free. They share how they did it.....

Ditto that, I got out from 10 years of CC debt recently, but there are still a couple of (small) purchases I make over the internet. It’s no big deal to have limited CC use.

I'm surprised at how many posters here use debit cards.....do the same with your credit card, pay it off, and make use of the 'cashback' features.
Work the float...time it right, and that new computer you just bought won't come due for close to two months.

exactly. i dont use debit cards at stores or online either
i use either paypal or a credit card for those.

The credit card industry, infamous for making up their own rules, says that a credit card deadbeat is someone who pays their credit card balances in full and on time each month. That definition is the complete opposite of the one from Merriam-Webster. OMG - that's depressing - never thought of that term applying to me. ( so much for paying on time and in full...)
