I think that Woods made a mistake in trying to buy off the first mistress. He should have made a public statement that he had not been faithful to his wife. I think he could have said something about foolishly thought that he could live the same high life style away from home that he had lived before marriage. He could have said something about the women he met with on the road were just road trip groupies. Then he could have apologized to his wife and family and fans.

I still wonder how many were really affairs and how many are publicity whores who are capitalizing on the story?

That would be easy to figure out. Tiger has yet to deny ONE OF THEM. Plus, so far, most of them have proof. If they didn't Tiger could shut them up pronto. Instead, he has pulled out the old trusty check book.

Disagree.

He gets back to golf, and loses himself in it, he'll still be a legend at it, and he'll make boatloads of money doing it.

Agreed..

Didn't hear any Yankee fans calling on Girardi to bench A-Rod during the World Series.

Your plan sure would have worked out better than Tiger Woods approach, that's for sure.

I'm not sure why but I feel really disappointed that Tiger is a scummy person. I bought the PR I guess and thought he was an OK guy. Golf isn't my thing but he seemed like one of the good guys in general. Stupid me.

I see only 6, drudge is up to 9?

TMZ has the 911 call from this morning, mother inlaw taken to hospital.

It is sad what Tiger has put his wife and her family through.

It was reported that she had sexually explicit text messages and voice mails. He didn't want them to go public.

God was merciful taking Wood's dad before all this came to light.

Who is to say his dad didn't know about any of this? After all, he was the one who built 'Tiger' the name from three years old. That is kind of whoring out your son & riding the gravy train if you ask me. And the color of his skin certainly gave him a place to start.

There are some fantastic black golfers in this area but they don't have the PR machine & money backing that Tiger's dad created for him.

His family comes first.” If only he had done this to begin with...... Tragic, isn’t it. And so avoidable

Gotta love the gossip mongers and MSM junkies condemning what Woods has done to his wife and family while at the same time demanding and relishing more of the "gory" details so they can continue their prurient onslaught against Woods........LOL!

Family comes first? Yea, right............show me the stains.

His actions have destroyed his family and they will need time to heal. In Sweden, far away from the toxic madness he has created.

"I think based on the original reports an OD was a no-brainer."

I think that makes a lot more sense than him getting brained by a club-wielding wife, which is what I initially thought when the story was reported. I looked at those SUV pictures closely today, and I can't see any other marks on the car from a club, other than the two broken windows, which seems unlikely if his wife was in some kind of SUV attacking rage.

I'm not saying that they didn't have a big fight, possibly even a physical fight, but it seems clear now that his problems were more drug/alcohol related, than injury related (either car or wife injury).

It's also clear that the police covered for him initially, especially if reports are true that his wife handed the EMTs Vicodin and Ambien bottles before they transported Tiger to the hospital. That alone would have been "reasonable cause" to draw Tigers blood at the hospital, even without a warrant.

He is a Buddhist and a slime. He and Daddy broke a lot of rules like amateurs getting paid.

Seems like Free Republic is still filled with Toger fan boys. He is an unpleasant nasty person but the fools (even here) think he is a nice person do to liberal TV media spin.

You have been duped people by the same types of people who lied to you and “packaged” Hussein.

That’s true, but the PGA isn’t going to let that happen. Bottom line on all of this is that he never cheated at golf. Had he done that, he’d be in true trouble.

What he’s done here is cheat on his wife, which is something a significant portion of Congress has done, many Presidents, not a few pastors, and a host of other executives have done.

He hasn’t used steroids, hasn’t used enhanced equipment, etc. He can even produce a birth certificate.

I’m surprised at how many people are eager to tear Tiger down, and how few gave a $hit when Clinton was caught balls deep in his own scandal and then LIED UNDER OATH about it.

As such, I think this guy’s best medicine is going to be getting back on the course. People will tire of it after a while, as they are wont to do.

I will certainly be glad to watch the next time Woods goes up against Parnevik in the Match Play championship. I still feel blessed to witness the kind of golf that man can play. I don’t think there’s another athlete like him in my generation.

He’d have done better not marrying, but at this point, he’ll lose some cash, buckle down, and start playing again. His kids are going to be the losers, I think, in all of this perhaps. Certainly, they won’t want for material things.

'Course, Nike might stick with him. Tiger gives "Just Do It" a whole new meaning.

Yea, but I heard they were going to re think their slogan to: "Just Hit It"

“He should have read Proverbs.”

Especially Proverbs 5.

Keep a path far from her (adulteress)
do not go near the door of her house
lest you give your best strength to others
and your years to one who is cruel,
lest strangers feast on your wealth
and your toil enrich another man’s house.
At the end of your life you will groan,
when your flesh and and body are spent.
You will say, “How I hated discipline!
How my heart spurned correction!
I would not obey my teachers
or listen to my instructors.
I have come to the brink of utter ruin
in the midst of the whole assembly.”

If I were Tiger, I’ll take a “break” for a year. I’ll just buy an island off Dubai. Then I’ll return around springtime of ‘11.
