FWIW, I read an interview with Rowling, and in it, she said that after seeing Radcliff nude in Equus, she told him she was writing him a nude scene in Deathly Hallows. In fact, she wrote three. In one, there are seven Harry Potter characters.
I don’t know if she was joking, but she’s done other scenes in the books where the Potter character was nude. Since it was a book, it wasn’t much of an issue, as he was taking a bath or something.
Perhaps obama’s safe school czar Kevin Jennings will have a few inputs for the show.
In one case, Harry has to dive into an icy cold pool of water in the middle of winter in order to retrieve a magic sword, and he quite sensibly strips down to his birthday suit before plunging in. Immediately afterwards, an evil "Horcrux" containing a fraction of Voldermort's soul attempts to torture Ron and turn him against Harry by creating an illusion of Harry and Hermionie entwined in one another's arms (possibly more nudity?).
In the other case, Harry ventures into the afterlife and arrives there nude, pretty much the same as babies are born into this world. The only people really outraged are going to be people who can't be bothered to read the books or watch the movies.
It was her idea. Rowling is actually pretty subversive. There are undercurrents in the book that are downright kinky, although you have to read between the lines to get them, and most kids wouldn’t pick up on it.
The backstory on the Dumbledore character is he’s homosexual. His brother was charged with performing “inappropriate charms on a goat.” The character Hagrid is half giant, half wizard, indicating his father was a normal sized man and his mother was about twenty feet tall. In some newspaper articles in the books, there are speculations that there is an inappropriate relationship between Potter and Dumbledore, although nothing in the text indicates anything resembling a sexual relationship between them.
Thanks, no. I meant Patty and Lucy. Although Marcie always calls Patty “Sir” I always thought Marcie just a dork, not gay. Lucy was the only “lipstick” one of the bunch.
Third was when the other characters took the potion that made them look like Harry, and all changed clothes in the same room. Harry indicated discomfort that they were displaying so much of him.
All of the nude scenes were within context, and not really a reach to go there. Still, Rowling is weird.

I loved the Harry Potter books, but really don’t think the last few were for children. The last book was fabulous in my humble opinion...
I don’t think nude scenes are at all necessary, however.
Don’t have a clue, I don’t watch any of that crap. LOL
One could interpret that as “true to the book”, but it is completely unnecessary, as well as tacky.

Yeah, but Schulz admitted on several occasions that Marcie was based on Billie Jean King and we all know which side of the court SHE played on.
It really depends on how they do it, in my opinion. If the scenes are shot in the nude, but the final image on the screen uses it to provide the impression of nudity (without the "naughty bits" showing), then I have no problem with it at all.
There are parts of the story where Harry is, explicitly, in the buff.
