”The power under the Constitution will always be with the people,”

You said he was wrong. He was right, and always will be right, regardless of which direction our country goes. It is in our power...it just depends on what we are willing to sacrifice. He put everything on the line, and undoubtedly hoped we would to the same. “We” (defined as the MTV-watching, KFC-eating, celebrity-worshiping public) may not be up to it. Or Palin and company may be showing that we are, and leading the way.

At the end of the day, he will always be right. The only thing required for evil to prosper, is for good men to do nothing.

I think the “wrong” was referring to this phrase:

“...their servants ....undoubtedly will be, recalled.”

“Undoubtedly”, assuredly not. We are a bunch of wimps on the 1 hand, and selfish lazy slavish chattel on the other. At least it would seem so.

[...] whenever it is exercised contrary to their interests . . . their servants can, and undoubtedly will be, recalled.”

Yet you write: "“We” (defined as the MTV-watching, KFC-eating, celebrity-worshiping public) may not be up to it."

I say that we have already gone far beyond what George Washington and so many others offerred their lives to fight.
