One other thing; on Verizon’s ‘3G’ service, you can’t do two things at once - for example, you can’t take a call and continue to browse the web. There simply isn’t multiplexing ability and there’s not enough bandwidth on their network.
Meanwhile, I’m talking to my father on my iPhone 3G while looking up prices on Botach Tactical’s website and checking the weather report. 3G GSM does let you talk and surf simultaneously.
That is technically correct.
You can’t be on the internet while placing a phone call with Verizon because of the CDMA network. However, they are upgrading the network to a newer standard.
In addition, the iPhone couldn’t for a long time either. I find it a weakness of Verizon, but seriously....I could hang up the phone for a second to find the info and call them back.
The iDon’t still doesn’t let you use multiple apps in one time, while the Verizon Droid does.
“There simply isnt multiplexing ability and theres not enough bandwidth on their network.”
Who told you this?
And posting on Free Republic.
I have my Storm tethered to my macbook, using it as a broadband modem, and I can talk on the phone at the same time. I wouldnt do that handheld anyway.
