Traffic in Portland is part of a deliberate policy to force people onto their light rail network.

These people have obviously never driven in Minneapolis. Any time of the day or night, traffic on the major freeways crawls. You’re better off taking side streets. Or walking.

Appearing in my e-mail just now:

WSDOT I-405 Eastside Transportation News

Dec. 3, 2009 - Edition 159

In this issue:

Major closure planned for northbound I-5 in Seattle starting Saturday

If your plans take you through Seattle on northbound I-5 this weekend, expect extra congestion and give yourself some extra time to reach your destination. Crews will close all lanes on northbound I-5 in south Seattle the next two Saturday nights and detour drivers off the freeway where they will travel six miles into SODO via Airport Way before reconnecting with the freeway.  ...

I can vouch for Portland and Seattle!

And with all that $pending on choo-choo trains, trolleys, and other forms of socialized transportation, NTM bread and circuses, and “smart growth”.

Say it ain't so!

Yes!

Seattle sucks at yet something else. We lost Boeing, we are raising taxes, and our traffic is the worst in the country.

We are now also the most liberal - only place in the country stupid enough to pass same-sex benefits law.

We have the lowest rate of church membership.

We have Patty Murray, by far the stupidest member of a very stupid body of people.

We have a higher rate of treasonous a$$hats than anywhere else - Baird, Inslee, Larsen, McDermott, Murray, and Cantwell. Cantwell further distinguishers herself by being one of Toricelli’s bedroom conquests.

It’s gorgeous up here, but that’s where it stops. The very last place in the US that you’d want to put a business is right here in Seattle.

Collectively, we boast the biggest collection of arrogant, nouveau riche, pseudo-educated, faux-green gasbags in the US. It’s war on plastic bottles, but they chat away on cellphones like it’s going out of style. Plastic bottles are pollution, but obsolete cellphones make wonderful Christmas ornaments.

Come here, spend your money, and then leave is my advice. I should have moved my wife out of here 17 years ago when I had the chance.

Portland has the 19th worst traffic congestion in the country, with 23 percent of the city’s roads having “heavy delays,” according to a report released Wednesday.

Ya oughta try Dallas, Texas then... LOL...
