Remember them from the Cho Cho Club and Luciano’s on 46 in NJ. Some good time in the late 50’s early 60’s.

If this is a Root of rock and roll. When did rock and roll really begin (subsequent to them) and who was influenced by them?
They are a vocal group. That doesn’t rock.

Cousin Brucie owned a station in my town (in NJ) in the '70s-'80s(?) & I attended a few of his RNR reunion shows in Morris County.

Rocket 88 by Ike Turner and sung by Jackie Bernsten commonly recognized (including by the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame) as the first rock n' roll hit. Other possibilities for the first rock and roll hit include Wynonie Harris' version of "Good Rockin' Tonight," "We're Going to Rock!" by Wild Bill Moore, and "Cadillac Boogie" by Jimmy Liggins & His Drops of Joy, all from 1948.
And don't forget "My Daddy Rocks Me With a Steady Roll" by Trixie Smith (1923)--a slow ballad that hardly amounted to rock and roll, but which morphed into "Around the Clock," recorded in 1945 by Wynonie Harris, Joe Turner, and others, "Reelin' and Rockin'" by Chuck Berry, and "Mother Goose Twist" by Teddy Randazzo, from 1962. "My Daddy Rocks Me" also inspired answer songs sudch as "Rock Me, Daddy" by Georgia White, from 1938.
By the way, "Rocket 88" topped the R & B charts the day I was born
