"I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves."
Tiger Woods, allegedly caught cheating on his wife, just posted an apology on his Web site.
Bonus: See who forced Tiger Woods to confess.
We think it's good enough to keep him in Nikes for years:
I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.
Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.

I stuck up for him concerning the accident and the MSM frenzy. The laws were in his favor on this.
Now he admits to being a lousy hubby. I don’t have any pity for him on this. He isn’t even noble for admitting it. The bimbo eruptions just keep on coming. He will suffer in many ways.
Can we say fool?
EGO = edging God out
EGO drive this nonsense.
Well, actually..., what drives these article posts on Free Republic (as it seems to me) is the insatiable appetite that FReepers have for salacious gossip and rumor-mongering... LOL...
And that's probably not such a bad thing. It gives us a good defense in another area. When some liberals start calling us "right-wing whackos" over here, then we can say no, that's not true... "We are just as interested in salacious gossip and rumor-mongering as you are, and are about as ignorant of the Constitution and rights therein as you!".... :-)

As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I'm pretty sore.
This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I'm human and I'm not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn't happen again.
This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.
The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.
This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.
Yeah, but public shame is such a powerful motivator to do what is right. If he's going to accept public adulation for living honorably, he's got to face public scorn when he lives wrongly.
Do you have unimaginably hot women more or less throwing themselves at you wherever you go? Ever had a "difficult" period with a spouse at the same time? It's not to justify his actions, but there's a reason the phrase, "deliver us from temptation" is in the Bible.
Well put. I feel the same way.
Wife- "Whats this in the Enquirer?"
Tiger- "Er, um, those jeans sure do make you look FAT!"
Not a good way to start the day.
Sometime in the afternoon Tiger was sitting on the couch, in the living room.
New VH1 Reality Show starring Tiger Woods “Putting from the Ruff”
Yes, I don’t want my lil chillun buying any cars or after shave from this guy.
Neither have I. But, somebody's buying the products he advertises. Or, his sponsors are throwing money down a hole.
Ahh... we do love our salacious gossip and rumor-mongering on Free Republic... and that makes me feel better, actually. I feel more normal and like the liberals now — instead of being called a right-wing whacko... :-)
Just look at the bimbo women he chose to have affairs with.
Nuff said.
For proof, there's the Jerry Springer show.

But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don't share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one's own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn't have to mean public confessions.
Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it's difficult.
I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology.
Everybody loves dirty laundry.
I’m with the wife on this one unless she has cheated too. If they have both cheated on each other, then they both deserve each other and should face all the necessary charges and counter charges that they may face individually and as a couple. Hey Bill, are you listening?
He’s been cheating on his wife for at least half the time they’ve been married. Someone like that shouldn’t get married.
Yeah, we only want PERFECT people...
Many of us here are defending what we consider a basic conservative value here. And Tiger has given us pause to define and stick to it. What’s his religious/spiritual background?
