Why he would go out and risk his marriage with that hamburger when he can stay home and enjoy steak is beyond me.
Maybe the 'steak' wasn't being served often enough for his taste.

Perhaps, but if I had to bet the house I would put my money on there being plenty of steak being served, but he was just looking for different recipes that offered spices the chef at home found distasteful.
