Here's an interesting note from Florida's camp heading into Saturday's big game ...
President Barack Obama is rooting for Florida to beat Alabama on Saturday, according to Gators right tackle Marcus Gilbert, whose father Jeff helped protect Obama as a U.S. Secret Service agent during his president campaign.
According to the Palm Beach Post ...
Marcus said Obama often asks his dad how Marcus and the Gators are doing.
"He's rooting for us all the way, like he did last year," Gilbert said.

Thanks much.
What happened to Baraq’s SoCal love for his buddy Pete Carroll?
Is Suburban Meyer a Baraqqi too?
It was bad enough to have Paterno and Pete Carroll on the bandwagon.
Did Joe Pa really support zero. I remember him campaigning for Bush in 2004. I knew that Carroll did, which didn’t surprise me. He’s always struck me as being effeminate for a college football coach.

UofT cuts anti-Obama player:
A player has been cut from the University of Texas’ football roster because of remarks he made on his Facebook page about President-elect Barack Obama, according to the Austin American-Statesman.
The newspaper reports that the dismissal of backup center Buck Burnette has been confirmed by a person close to the team. The American-Statesman also says that, according to people who saw Burnette’s Facebook page, he updated it shortly after Obama’s election was confirmed and wrote that hunters should get their guns.
The page has since been deleted from Facebook, but the American-Statesman says that before it was taken down Burnette wrote an apology that said, “Clearly I was in the wrong for what I did and I apologize for being a sore loser.”
Coming out of high school in Texas, the 6-2, 305-pound Burnette was considered one of the state’s top prospects among offensive linemen.
Obama is more qualified to give NCAA March Madness picks than fighting terrorism or fixing the economy.
