~Welcome To Sunday At Amy's Place~
May the joy and spirit of Christmas remain with us now and forever.
~High Holy Days~
Snow so softly falls silent out of the ebony sky
a blanket of forgetfulness over autumn's litter
and small lights strung challenges the stars above
lighting the season on porch, window, and trees
I smile as I walk tonight, for even sadness flees
for now we will celebrate the Season of His Dove
remembering what he would accept for us so bitter
and in doing so, set even my old sad soul to fly.

Meg, your Post is So Lovely! (((((((Sunday Blessings to you and All FRiends)))))))
This Poem is about my Heart Longing to See More and More of Christ in me,
A Spiritual Application of the Scripture "He must Increase, but I must Decrease."
The "Me" I Long to Be
Lord,
Sometimes I Feel So Far from Thee;
My Flesh is So Sinful and Weak.
How I Long to Actually See
The me I Want to be.
To Put Others Before myself,
Serving their Needs, and not mine:
My Jesus, Grant me Thy Strength and Help,
My Savior, So Loving and Kind.
Oh, to have Your Very Heart,
To Love Like You Love, my King.
Your Enablements to me Daily Impart;
To Your Grace and Mercies I Cling.
Lord, Thine Image, Thy Stamp, Let me Wear;
The Seal of Thy Spirit, and Lovely Fruit.
Thy Cross Help me to Thankfully Bear,
And Show Love in All I Do.
I'm Thankful Your Sacrifice Covers my Sins,
And Your Righteousness is Imputed to me.
May Jesus Increase, and Caroline end,
Then I'll be the "me" I Long to be.

He followed in his dad's footsteps
His dad had been a gifted luthier
Fixing, restoring, building
anything with frets, tuners, or even tubes
The shop even had spares
Leftovers from the old Gretsch Factory
tucked in the rafters
Sawdust, shellac and guitars
these were the smells that greeted visitors
His dad passed away before he could pass on
all the tricks and things
he had learned over the decades
News I have
Four years late
that he is gone
as I pondered this
I picked up the bass he helped me restore
holding it like a living thing
and remembering
stopping in his shop
just to say "hi"
playing a tune or two
and reflecting about life, fishing, and everything
He would show me his latest
Creation
Restoration
Source of consternation
I had so hoped others I knew could benefit
From his gifted hands
Sad to say, sad to think, sad to realize
Those hands have turned cold years ago
Here I am with my Rickenbacker
holding, remembering
and praying
