LONDON (AP) - In the contest, she finished second. But on the charts, she's number one.
Susan Boyle's debut record, "I Dreamed A Dream," entered the British album chart in the top spot Sunday. The 48-year-old Scottish songstress famously finished second on "Britain's Got Talent," but the variety show launched a career that has seen her win success on both sides of the Atlantic.
Millions of people have seen an online clip of Boyle auditioning for the judges. "I've never been given the chance before, but here's hoping it'll change," she said then.

I hope she signed a good deal. Since they are not her songs you’d be surprised (or not) at how little money she could (not) make. But, since she is world famous she probably has a great lawyer, hopefully.
I’m assuming that the Record Companies have NOT CHANGED since the 70’s. In which case... a Good LAWYER is MORE IMPORTANT than a good Producer.
God Bless Susan.. and bless her big chance... I’ll be buying one.
I’ve only bought 2 CDs. Hers will be the third.
Good for her, she deserves it. I just hope it doesn’t change the person she is.
I don’t think she’ll change much. She’s already said she won’t move out of her small house in her hometown because it would be too hard on her cat.
Well .. I’d be surprised if Simon is not involved somewhere in her career. And .. he’s done a great job with IL DIVO; they are making tons of money.
I bought 2 of her songs from iTunes. Just lovely. The other songs don’t appeal to me much, but that’s not to say she’s no good. I wish her all the best - including a good lawyer and down-to-earth friends who can keep her grounded.
5 mil for 2 CDs plus 6pct of sales is standard. She is going to do just fine. She has a great financial person handling her stuff. He handled U2’s finances and they did fine.
