That refusal to wear the garment, knowing what is required of us and deliberately choosing not to do what Christ asks of us, is sin.

Mormon Underoos have nothing to do with Christianity...
My God is not. Why do you ask?
The wedding garment represents Christ's righteousness, a righteouseness that has been imputed us. That clothing is not our own. It does not come from us.
9After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10And they cried out in a loud voice:
"Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb." 11All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12saying:
"Amen!
Praise and glory
and wisdom and thanks and honor
and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever.
Amen!"13Then one of the elders asked me, "These in white robeswho are they, and where did they come from?"
14I answered, "Sir, you know."
And he said, "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Revelation 7:9-14
Cordially,
The "science" that you and the other Bill Nye wannabes on this thread have presented is, well, interesting. It's also unnecessary, as my argument was not a scientific one. I merely said that interpretation was required to understand the value of pi that derives from the bible. You guys are making arguments ranging from number of decimal places and significant digits to ancient Hebrew numerology.
And, of course, how can I forget post 683 in which God's Scientist Emeritus proudly dismisses my point because the value of pi is different on the sun!
So, please, talk amongst yourselves and reassert your belief in the literal truth of each word of the bible. As for me, I'm comfortable knowing that my Christian God gave me a brain to not only understand His word, but also to ascertain his methods of creation.
I would now like to leave a disclaimer for others who may be reading this thread (actually, I have received a number of private messages indicating that this thread is being watched elsewhere, and I wouldn't want them to get the wrong impression):
To All To Whom These Presents Shall Come--Greetings
Please do not judge the intelligence or reasoning capability of all Christians from the content of this thread. We are not all this stupid.
Oh, one more thing--you're the only addressee on this post. I would expect you to inform he others.
Luke 3:23-38 lays out a geneaology for Jesus. In verse 38, it names Adam. If Genesis is allegory, then a contemporary historian of your God’s earthly ministry says he was descended from a fictional character. So, it appears that you’re wrong, and that your God is descended from a fictional character.
And you consider said historian to be writing accurately under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit?
Allegory can be considered “fiction”, but it is only a problem for those of weak faith.
Ooohhhhh! How scary! Secret messages and threats that we are being WATCHED!
Next thing you know, someone will be threatening Jim that they will end their donations to FR because of us....Oh wait!
"We're watching you!"
Translation:
Mom has been looking over my shoulder and is now threatening to shut off my Internet because I have been such a little Jack Ass.
Don't worry Buckie, we understand your post is all allegory...
To All To Whom These Presents Shall Come--Greetings
Please let it be known that not all Christians, (especially one who have to keep bragging over and over and over and over that they are to try and convince us) are arrogant asses...
The folks over at Darwin Central, the internet evo, anti-FR site inhabited by banned and otherwise disgruntled FRevos, continually watches FR to see if they can find stuff to shred is about.
If it weren't for FR, DC would not exist. For all their claims about being for science, 90% of their activity is FR bashing.
Now here you equate allegory as fiction.
So perhaps maybe it is time for you to better define this illustrious idea of yours and layout whether it is all of the bible that is allegory or part, and it just part then what parts.
For example I think historians would be shocked to learn Julius Cesar was a fictional Character.
I would also like to see how the Crucifixion of Christ is “allegorical”...
Mom's basement has to be getting crowded each time they meet...
Your frantic gyrations to bolster your ego by condemning others as having *weak faith* for not believing as you do, are also instructive to watch.
You’ve revealed more to the world about what you are about than you have a clue.
Your constant misrepresentation of the Bible and conflating the concepts of inerrancy and word for word literal reading of the Bible without regard to style, reveal what you’re about, and it’s not about intellectual honesty. It’s not about any kind of honesty.
It’s about presenting yourself as better than everyone else and right all the time. It’s an ego boost made to bolster insecurities about what YOU believe. Nobody is going to come along and tell you that you’re right just to make you feel better. Your constant need for approval is not going to be met here where people are going to tell you the truth. If you want to hear that you’re right so that you can convince yourself that you are in good standing with God, you’ll have to go somewhere else.
It is not a sign of weak faith to believe that God meant what He said when He inspired the Bible. It’s not weak faith to believe that it’s inerrant.
It’s a sign of weak faith when you cannot accept that God meant what He said and you have to twist, manipulate, and excuse what He said because it conflicts with your preferred, predetermined views of what you think the world should be like. It’s a sign of weak faith to make God git you instead of you fitting God.
It’s a sign of a control freak who has to make everything fit his ideology and demand approval for it. And bragging up on yourself impresses no one and convinces no one.
I doubt she has a clue what he is going on about though...
So we have weak faith because we don't believe fiction? I wonder what happened to your brain synapses during birth.....
By your own admission then, since allegory can be considered fiction, then when you claim that the Bible is allegory, you are saying it is fiction.
If you say you believe in the God and Jesus presented in the Bible, then you are in effect believing in fictional characters.
Why would you want to brag so much about being a Christian when you are just bragging about following someone you think is a fictional character?
I guess that would take greater faith than many of us have.
But it also makes you look blindingly stupid. Why not believe in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny instead?
Mom’s basement is a real cesspool based on the few forays I’ taken over there over the years.
If you go, you can’t say you weren’t warned.
My kids were like that when they were toddlers. They wanted approval for everything they did and said.
They outgrew the need to constantly be affirmed that they were right and learned to cope with it when they weren’t.

ROFL. Yeah, they are called LURKERS. duh. Sounds like someone is more than just a little paranoid.
My 'gyrations' LOL, lets just review what you've brought to the table
1. The bible says pi=3
- Lie #1, the bible does not address pi anywhere, the word is not found in Hebrew
- Lie #2, the bible does not claim in 1 Kings that pi=3, the word "3" is not found anywhere in the passage.
2. The answer to this lie requires 'interpretation'.
- Lie #3, your force you own flawed 'interpretation' upon a scripture passage that to say it is a math passage. The fact is that anyone with half a brain readily understands what the passage is describing except you.
3. Don't confuse you with the facts because your mind is made up based upon fallacy.
4. You have not brought a single expansion of the Hebrew used, nor the full description of the passage. You pedantic protestations that your explanation for the passage is the only one valid, yet provide no support for your position.
The fact is YOU are the one gyrating wildly, guess that is what happens when you reach the end of your rope.
My faith is in more than this one passage and your mangled misrepresentation of it. You have yet to tell us upon what basis you consider yourself to be a Christian (crickets)
I merely said that interpretation was required to understand the value of pi that derives from the bible.
No, please go back to your earlier posts and correct your misrepresentation of your argument. You can't even prove the measurements were taken at equivalent locations on the basin, therefore your assertions are baseless.
You guys are making arguments ranging from number of decimal places and significant digits to ancient Hebrew numerology.
Which are valid points considering your absurd assertions. AFA ancient Hebrew numerology - are you asserting that Hebrew at that era could account for decimal places?? (crickets). No, each and every argument has exposed your foolish claims on multiple levels.
As for me, I'm comfortable knowing that my Christian God gave me a brain to not only understand His word, but also to ascertain his methods of creation.
And if ignorance is bliss, you must be pretty blissful considering your inability to handle even a simple portion of the scripture.
Please do not judge the intelligence or reasoning capability of all Christians from the content of this thread. We are not all this stupid.
I know we aren't, so what's your problem?
Oh, one more thing--you're the only addressee on this post. I would expect you to inform he others.
Not surprising you are afraid to address others, generally considered poor form in FR, but since it appears that it distresses you so much, I was going to do it anyway.
