Netflix has a ‘Cat and Canary’ from 1927 and another from the seventies. They don’t have this one. They also don’t have “The Return of Doctor X.” So I won’t be posting my personal impressions later. I know that is a great disappointment to you all.

The 1939 movie Cat and the Canary is seen from time to time on Ebay. 72MM transfers to DVD. Many times those classic movies transfers are horrible, but once in a while you can find a nice one. I did with The Cat and The Canary. The copy I got on E-bay is very good. Good enough for my movie library until TCM runs it someday, and they might. There have been several movies I thought I would never find that have shown up on there schedule.

Another rare Bob Hope gem from about the same time and also with beautiful Paulette Goddard was Nothing But The Truth. If you get the chance to see it, do.
