Tommy Chong did 9 months in Federal prison for selling bongs. The hell of it was that it was his son's business. Chong had allowed his face and name to be used for promotional purposes. There is a movie

For those who don't know, LA has several MAJOR clearing warehouses in the valley which deal this stuff wholesale for the rest of the country.
A friend of mine bumped into one of them a year ago and was STUNNED at what she saw.
Imagine a Wallmart filled to the brim with drug paraphernalia.
