From The Equalizer pilot

He was great in Breaker Morant and also very good in Churchill The Wilderness Years. The Equalizer was also very good with a great cast, on location shooting in NYC and the soundtrack by Stewart Copeland (Police drummer and band founder).

He will be missed.

Re The Equalizer: the pilot of that short-lived series was solid gold.

His son, Peter Woodward is also a good actor. He and his father appeared in a episode of Babylon 5:Crusade.

The early “black and white” years of his British TV series “Callan” - before being shot in color - provided emotionally riveting TV.

He was great in Breaker Morant . . .

That's for sure.

That’s too bad. I was just talking about The Equalizer yesterday. Great show.

Amen. I think there’s a disc set somewhere I saw from my uncles stash and watched it..was hooked.

The actor who plays his son was the leader of Cobra Kai in the Karate Kid.

Too bad. I have been thinking lately of the New York that was David Dinkins' and how that series captured the hopelessness of that time versus Giuliani and success that came later.

The city has been in descent since Rudy and alas, now there is a mayor that looks forward to KSM and that coming circus.

We could use another "Equalizer" about now in NYC again.

Take the “ward” out of his names and he’s “Ed Wood.”

I loved the Equalizer, one of the best theme songs too.

RIP Mr. Woodward.

I dl'd the entire Equalizer series. I found the debut and last 2 seasons were the best. It got a bit thins after the debut and through the middle episodes. His son was less than great ion the series, IMO. Mickey was a treat as well as a few of the other members of his old group who would do the occasional odd bit of work for him. He played the part elegantly and never over the top. Quite cool and calculated.
Always tastefully done and quite current with the craft work of the era.

Oh, no! One of my favorite actors. I just saw the first few episodes of “The Equalizer” on a Netflix disk; it was as good as I remembered.

From Breaker Morant, Edward Woodward explains Rule .303.

I loved “The Equalizer” as a kid. I always remembered that he carried a Walther PPK (or PPKS) in that show, and as an adult I finally bought my own.
