Oasis of the Seas, larger than life on the ocean's horizon Friday morning, swaggered into Port Everglades, sounding her horn as a crowd of onlookers at John U. Lloyd State Park beach let out a cheer.
``Wow!'' cried one early riser, joining revelers with binoculars and blankets to greet the 225,000-ton megaship. `It's so amazing!'' shrieked another. ``It's huge.''
The world's largest cruise ship was accompanied by a flotilla of small boats and doused by water cannons as she headed into her new home port.

Royal Caribbean's new floating city arrived today at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., dwarfing apartment buildings and generally giving hope to a state soon to be deluged by sea level rise. Oasis of the Seas makes the Titanic look like a bath toy
Also known as the world’s largest target.
That is, without a doubt, one of the ugliest water going sights I’ve ever seen.
They just have to sneak that GoreBull Warming baloney into every story, don't they?!
someone in the [alledged]PR effort said it was “5 time larger than the Titanic”...can’t get more left handed compliment than that!
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
The gearhead in me thinks this is awesome, and it’s a triumph of capitalism.
OTOH, I really don’t see the point. Maybe because I go on vacations to get away from people, not join a few hundred (few thousand?) going to the same place I am...
Then there’s the logistical aspect of offloading all those passengers in an emergency, or even just at port.
Damed hippies, I thought they would all be dead by now.
And, I think, more cowbell. /SNL
Thats what I thought too,not a pretty ship
Bet it handles like a UPS truck in a big gale force
wind
I cannot imagine a worse vacation than being on a cruise ship, especially the biggest cruise ship with the most people, all telling you about their grandchildren or trying to sell you insurance.
Some wealthy passengers were overheard saying, “Even God Himself couldn’t sink this ship”.
That thing looks built for a Poseiden adventure.
I wouldn’t get on that thing.
It reminds me of the boat in “The Fifth Element.”
Ping to this humongous ship. :-)
Looks like the projects on water. Float the homless from Detroit to D.C.
First thought in my mind.
Even God Himself couldnt sink this ship.
There is the kiss of death.
