Pensioner, 86, Dies After Being Raped By Teenager Who Dragged Her From Bed In Care Home

An 86-year-old woman who was kidnapped and raped at a care home has died. The frail victim was dragged from her bed and raped in the garden of the Springfield residential care home in Bradford, West Yorkshire. The pensioner was discovered at about 1am on September 15 after staff, who checked on her hourly because of her medical condition, found she was missing from her room.
Dale Gary Boocock, 19, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty in October to kidnap and rape and is due to be sentenced later this month at Bradford Crown Court. But the woman, who has not been named, died on Thursday night. Boocock was warned by Judge Roger Scott at last month's hearing - before the pensioner's death - that he would receive an 'extremely long sentence of imprisonment'.
Judge Scott told him: 'The circumstances of this rape are so horrific that a judge will be considering the possibility of life imprisonment.' Boocock was on licence from a 12-month custodial sentence, imposed for breaking into a block of flats where he was living in Bradford, when he broke into the care home.
