Evangelist Tony Alamo was sentenced Friday to 175 years in prison for taking underage girls across state lines for sex, effectively punishing him for the rest of his life for molesting children he took as "brides" in his ministry. During Friday's hearing, some of Alamo's victims testified about how their families were destroyed while the evangelist took over their lives. Alamo, 75, had been convicted in July on a 10-count federal indictment. U.S. District Judge Harry F. Barnes said Alamo used his status as father figure and pastor and threatened and threatened the girls with "the loss of their salvation."

Again.......just ‘reading’ the headlines, I would say this leans toward a “set-up” and is ‘just the beginning’. However, if proven to be true then my original post stands. I am Baptist and I believe in evangelism (within reason....”planting the seed only”). If what those headlines on his site are factual, this is just the beginning.

I would not toss Osteen in that group and I am no self improvement fan of Osteen....I don’t much like him to be honest.
I do like Billy and Franklin Graham though and James Robeson who saved me long ago now.

The television evangelists we get down here are neither Graham nor Robeson. All the ones that we get are of the “health, wealth, and prosperity†kind, in which all that they do is beg for money. If you send me $100, God will give you a $1000. The only “gospel†that they know is that God wants everyone to be materially rich, and the “evangelist†is the pump that you have to prime. For anyone that knows anything about Christianity, these “evangelists†are nothing but pimps for Satan.
