I was raised Catholic but am now an atheist. When I am in church for weddings or funerals, I stand when everyone stands, kneel when everyone kneels, etc. When it comes time to pray, I simply fold my hands and look down. I respect those who believe, but it's obvious I am not taking part.
I think Obama's an atheist when it comes to America. He stands there quietly while others salute, present but not "voting" so to speak, in attendance but not participating.
He doesn't believe.

When I was in the Army protecting and serving this country, it’s citizens, and its constitution, had I stood there like a fu**ing dumba$$ while the national anthem played or while the flag was raised, lowered, or presented, I would have lost rank, money, respect, and plenty of sweat.

From Rules for Radicals by Obamas hero, Saul Alinsky: RULE 5: "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon." There is no defense. It's irrational. It's infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.
QUESTIONS?

I take it the national anthem was playing. Again.
This jug-eared lying Marxist is a disgrace.

"I was raised Catholic but am now an atheist."So was I but I am not atheist. I just don't believe in organized religion. Very dangerous thing if you ask me.

Okay, I found another picture. Looks like he eventually got up to speed.
I see a trumpeter on the right there, but don't know exactly what's going on.

I was wondering, protocol and etiquette and all, what is really the proper way for a CIC to salute? I'm given to understand that if ex-military is not in uniform, they should not give a military salute. So George Bush was not in uniform, but still saluted. It came across as only marginally effective.
What should a civilian prez with no military background do when saluted by the marines that guard him? It also seems rude to not acknowledge the gesture.
What did Reagan do?

It must not be the national anthem if a trumpeter is playing.
Was this on Veteran's Day? More likely Taps was being played.

I’m not sure what you mean by “marginally effective” - it was pretty clear to me that not only did GW know protocol and decorum, but he genuinely respected the servicemen whose salutes he was returning.
I long for those days...

On the other hand, if “Hail to the Chief” were being played... that might change the picture a bit. I think he’s a disgrace in any case.
