My Lab already brings me things she's shaken the brains out of.

I think she wants a pet (rabbit/squirrel/fox/deer/duck/goose) of her own. Fortunately she and the cat have reached an accommodation (they sometimes hunt together and the cat strenuously objects to the dog trying to pick her up).
