Conservative Smears on NCIS (Vanity)
11/11/09 | MortMan

Posted on 11/11/2009 3:12:12 PM PST by MortMan

I found myself writing a gripe-out email today to CBS for the garbage smears they have inserted in their top-rated show NCIS. Last night, they smeared Sarah Palin, implying she is a trigger-happy and irresponsible shooter. Last week, they misquoted Rush Limbaugh, stating that he believes that (legal) immigration is a grave threat to the country.

Gone is the crisp inter-character play from previous seasons. In its place some flaming liberal writer has taken it upon themselves the alienate fully half the audience for the show.

Am I the only person to have noticed, or does this really appear to be just another prong in the libtard attack repertoire? (How's that for a mixed metaphor?)

Reminds me of the time I attended a SF rally in support of the students in Tienanmen Square.

Chinese democracy activist speakers made way for some pony tailed freak who stepped up & started ranting against George Bush - totally incongruous. The cheering at each point he made slowly tailed off as the protestors, mostly chinese, realized they had no clue what he was talking about.

Typical liberal encountering a microphone.

I haven’t watched this week’s episode yet, but I thought last week’s episode was hilarious with Tony’s description of the American Dream and WASP males. I didn’t take the slightest offense nor did anyone in our house. I did not even take offense at the mention of Rush Limbaugh—it wasn’t a slam. I’ll reserve judgement on this week’s until after I see it. It’s the best show on television. Actually, it’s the only show we watch regularly though we’ve attempted to like the new NCIS-LA.

I have been saying over and over hollywood is not on the side of conservatives! How many times do we listen to anti-Christian messages in movies and TV that undermine the cultural by means of support of abortion, homosexuality and just plain smut. How many times when watching a movie or TV show now do you hear God’s name abused but say God in a Christian way and all hell breaks loose. Remember that Kathy what’s her name when receiving her award said something like suck this one Jesus something like that. But we support them and then they take our money we spend on their movies and what and then give big donations to the dems.

I missed the trigger-happy inference of DiNozzo’s remark but hadn’t heard the Limbaugh comment from last week which might’ve alerted me.

It was a sloppy episode anyway. For some reason, an experienced NCIS investigator with all sorts of resources doesn’t check up on someone who shouldn’t know where he works and then meets her without backup. And then there was the weird premise of the assassin looking upon Vance as some sort of ally simply because he chased her for years. Badly done all around.

It’s one of the few shows I’ve watched regularly, but I can easily stop.

I also had a logistical problem with the shooting lines when Vance’s wife killed the assassin. The probable through-and-through would have hit her husband (and the blood flowing from the woman’s chest after she was shot in the back was clear evidence of a through-shot).

I concur - it was sloppy.

I started this thread to discuss my impression of the remarks, as opposed to calling for boycott. If I eventually decide to stop watching, it will be because the entertainment value of the show has become outweighed by its political baggage.

Lawn and Order SUV does the same thing. I watched it ONCE about 3 months ago and the hot buttons were all there.

At least half the audience.

Not smart.

I noticed it last night. And to think that was my favorite show.

I saw that and assumed a slight, as did the liberal I was watching with.

So I informed Tony;

“If it was Sarah, you’d be assuming ambient temperature”

“Do we really want to be as thin-skinned as the libtards?”

Seems to me it's not just obama. Seems to me a lot of those who call themselves conservative will throw others under the bus in a New York minute. Part of that comes from being principled, but not all of it does.

Are you talking about last night's show? At what point in the show did this happen? I want to go back and watch it but I need to know how far into the show to watch. If that is indeed the case, I will not watch the show anymore.

I also didn't know that Bellisario wasn't writing anymore. I don't think JAG ever stepped over the line, but NCIS Los Angeles stinks. I won't watch that one at all.

Please let me know. Thanks.

It was in the first half of the show - where McGee and Dinozzo (sp?) were sent to follow-up with the nurse who had a lawsuit against the doctor they found shot on naval academy grounds.

I’d like to be clear - I am NOT calling for a boycott. I just found these two lines from the past two weeks troublesome, and wanted to get other conservatives’ opinions.

A fitting retort, but inaudible to nearly all.

I had Direct TV, dropped it because of the escalating prices and now I download instant play movies from Netflix and also order the DVDs. That is the only TV I get anymore and I get my news from the net. Go Freerepublic!

I just viewed the show in question and really didnt see any harm in the Sarah Palin mention, It was lighthearted and kind of funny.

Hmmm. I saw that last night, and I didn’t see it the way you did. I took it as that woman was reckless yes, but that Gibbs meant SHE thought she was Sarah Palin, meaning that she could shoot, which she couldn’t. I actually laughed.
