Yet you don’t think it reflects poorly on Sarah Palin that her 17-year old daughter had a child with him.
The cognitive dissonance must be unbearable.

1) Rebuttal #1 : This is the Alinsky tactic of holding conservatives to our own standards. Granted, the situation is tragic, but if Christians/Conservatives are to field only perfect people, we would not field anyone at all.
2) Rebuttal #2 : Sarah is not her daughter.
3) Rebuttal #3 : Even Sarah makes mistakes. Duh.
4) Rebuttal #4 : The lack of coherent messages, and the lack of any charisma whatsoever by everyone else, reflects poorly on the rest of the Republicans.
5) Rebuttal #5 : Have you ever been a beautiful 17 year old young lady?
Can’t wait for the follow up.

Okay, this is interesting. I think #1 and #4 are compelling. But I should make it clear that I don't require politicians to have perfect personal lives, or even good personal lives, to earn my support. They earn my support through their policies and record.
With that said, what can irk me about the cult of Sarah is people who obviously do care greatly about the personal lives of their politicians holding Sarah up on a pedestal, and cultivating a sort of selective blindness. It's strange to see people getting all worked up about Bristol's boyfriend's ridiculous five minutes of fame, and trashing him with a lot of emotion, when, by the way, Sarah seems to have blown it herself in the parenting department and no one should care about that, either. It's dangerous to mix celebrity worship with politics.
As for #5, I'll put in a tentative "no" to see where you're going with it.
