1) Rebuttal #1 : This is the Alinsky tactic of holding conservatives to our own standards. Granted, the situation is tragic, but if Christians/Conservatives are to field only perfect people, we would not field anyone at all.

Obviously you have little experience with 16 and 17 year old girls (or boys). Hormones and all that, find a way to assert their independence even if it's self destructive. Any other parent find these things familiar? I can't tell you how much time I spent praying when my kids were teenagers. Some of their boyfriend/girlfriend choices were just as bad as Levi. There was one of my daughter's boyfriends I seriously considered having removed. Any parent who throws stones at Sarah and Todd Palin over this is either incredibly self-righteous or in denial.
