I’m a 98er too! Jim has done great work for pro-life.

There are still some of us around with 11/28/97 sign up dates to include Jim Robinson. Yeah, JimRob's got a lower Freeper number than I do. :=) I was a bit late to get into the single-digit club. There was something of a mad dash to register at the end of 1998.

Uh...this newfangled electronic thingy sure beats the smoke signals. It used to take a whole tree to post a Helen Thomas graphic..LOL .... I started with a WebTv w/ NO cut& paste. Used to run out and buy WashTimes, WashPost, NYTimes and WSJ. Bring em home, cut out articles and attach to clipboard and manually type in all the articles.

Do you know what occurred to me the other day? It was the faint memory of some jackass on here years ago trying to sabotage the website with all kinds of crazy nonsense. Anyone else remember that?
To: Jay Howard Smith
They used to publish that Freeper number along with sign-up date. I remember mine to be #72. If I recall correctly, your Freeper number showed up on your profile page when you moused over "In Forum". It may still do that, I'll have to check. I believe that mine's 43.

I had to go look. I guess I am coming on on 12 years in about 20 days. Time flys.

Congrats:
Over 11 years for me. Signed up after about 6 months of lurking. I get a kick out of thin skinned posters complaining today. The early crowd was a tough one.
At least we don't see too many of the "Testing - do not reply threads" anymore.

It looks like the Freeper number has been replaced by your name with a ‘~’ in front of it.

Couple more class of 98! Old home thread going here. Another '98 "class member" here. Jeff Head - you beat me by only 4 days :)

The early crowd was a tough one. Ooooh, yeah. I remember trying to work up the courage to make my first post. They'd flame you for "ditto" back then...

10 years in cyber-time is like 30 years on human time?
