Watching Eastwood’s “Gran Torino” on DVD.

That's a very good film.

Chill. This will never get thru the Senate, and all the RATS accomplished was delaying a Dem civil war over abortion.

Our political operatives are giddy that the RATS foolishly climbed out on this ledge.

I know how you feel, it’s just not the USA anymore. It’s something very different and very sinister. and it has 12000 nuclear weapons.

This is not the America I know and where I grew up. I cannot recognize it any more.

I'm with you, aloppoct. This is all just so surreal and depressing...

How are you sure that this won't make it through the Senate?

“First of all, the bill has not passed the senate yet. We really do not know what will be in the final bill. You don’t have to repeal it, just not fund it. The House holds the purse strings. Much of the proposed plan does not go into effect until 2013.
If we can get more Reps in Congress, we can block the Obama agenda. We won’t have a veto proof majority, but we can throw a monkey wrench into the Dems’ plans.

There will be a health care bill regardless. The Dems need one to save face with their base. The only issue is what will be in it. The Senate will have a major say.

Elections are important. They have consequences as we are seeing now.”

Elections don’t work, because our country functions as a Direct Democracy when it is supposed to be a Constitutional Republic. Face it, government only grows. It doesn’t matter who we elect or don’t elect. The size of government, the levels of taxes go up. We are slaves.

We are only "slaves" if we act like ones. Our country does not function like a "Direct Democracy." If it did, our elected leaders would be more responsive to the electorate's will. They are brazenly doing what they want regardless of the people's will. We must hold them accountable at all levels of government. That is possibile in our Republic.

We all act like slaves, we pay 50% of our income to the government, even though we don’t agree with 90% of what they do.

Our government does act like a Direct Democracy, where in the Constitution does it say the government should be providing 90% of what it does? It was voted for by mobs and the Supreme Court allowed it.

This will get through the senate because the dems will do anything they can to get it through even if it bends or breaks the law. This is their last ditch effort. They know that if 2010 it’s over for them and the cause is more important than their jobs. They worship socialism. Health care is a crucial part of the take over. They know that once in place, they can rest and even lose several election seasons. You can’t undo this mess once it starts. It pollutes and corrupts everything it touches.

“As long as I draw a breath I will not be a Socialist.

The last time I looked this is still Texas where I live.

They can stick it where the sun does not shine.

Come here and see how it is accepted.”

The only way you will not be forced to abide by this law is for Texas to leave the union. I hope they have the courage to do just that.

Not for TX breaking, but whatever it takes. And if it did happen it would not simply be TX.

Now. There is still the issue of the Senate vote and the Constitutional Challenge before extreme actions are in order.

If extreme measures are invoked, it will be at State or States level.
