Sure were a lot of unsecured inmates running around, for good or bad.

Do inmates awaiting trial for assault, home invasion and attempted murder usually have the freedom to move about?

Time to remove the comfy chairs for the officers.

There are inmates out of their cells all the time. A unit with 104 inmates usually has 52 inmates out of their cell at any given time.

Jails don’t primarily use the offense for determining classifications status. That said, it is no suprise other inmates helped out an officer. I’ve seen it myself. All people in jail aren’t terrible humans. Some don’t want to see an officer hurt or killed.I worked at a local jail. The “pod” consisted of 100 inmates and me.
