Ale. And mead. From a horn. Straight. LOL. Also Maker's Mark (of course), Wild Turkey, and Gentleman Jack. And Rebel Yell, when I can find it. Elijah Craig used to be a standby, too. Mrs. Viking made me swear off most of it about ten years ago - she said it made me mean. She was right. I admittedly have a litany of things that piss me off, and a little bourbon just lights my fuse. I'm still allowed a nip or three during the holidays. Stick with wine or a nip of fruit brandy the rest of the year.

I have an Antient family recipe for mead. I’ve made it a few times — it’s lovely. I do not know how old the recipe is, but it was an old recipe when my great-grandmother recited it to me, verbally.

I swore off Scotch for the same reason. The only time I touch liquor is camping trips and when I have a cold.

And Buffalo Trace Bourbon in a nice (homegrown fresh) Mint Julep on a hot summer day, under a shady tree is just the ticket. May have to develop a winter julep recipe...
