We have time for one more rant. I am tired of these killers that feel the are entitled to a clear roadway when the want to speed and endanger other lives by their reckless. Roads do get full and all lanes full. These Obama clones that start flashing there lights behind me when there are cars in front of me as far as you can see should be forced to drive Yogos. I can only assume that they are late for their aroma therapy colonic appointment. How can we condemn others for choosing which laws they feel should not apply to them when we do the same?

I cannot imagine living with traffic like that daily. I live in a rather rural area......I will not even go to the mall during holiday season as I have no patience with the traffic backlogs. I can go out my door and not see my neighbors.....I can sit outside and listen to silence. I won’t be moving to a big city anytime soon. I feel for ya!

You are not the enforcer of the speeding laws. That is between the speeder and G-d and the secular laws.

Your job (and my job) is to stay right, except when passing.

If everyone just worried about obeying themselves, and did not try to worry about others, the world would work much better.

Left is for passing. Either speed up or get over.

Accurate for the most part, but in truly heavy traffic - in America - its unrealistic to expect the passing lane to be continually unoccupied and available for your unfeterred use as an Autobahn.

While "don't get passed on the right" is excellent advice, I'm not going to feel much obligation to "squeeze over" just so you can weave in and out of traffic, tailgating the remaining 2400 cars in front of me.

Doing the right thing because it is the right thing can start a movement.

The futility of the speeder’s goal is not your concern.

Your concern is to obey G-d. Part of that is to obey the law of the land.

Start with yourself. Stay right.

What others do is not your concern.

The futility of the speeder’s goal is not your concern.

My concern is arriving safely at my destination, and doing my best to ensure others are able to do the same by driving predictably and responsibly. Note that speed in itself is not a factor, but can become one relative to traffic conditions.

Accordingly, "what others do" is most emphatically also my concern, especially at 75mph, or 170mph.

Your right to haul ass ends when it puts me or others at risk. That is the law of the land.

1. “Your right to haul ass”

I don’t drive in that manner.

2. “My concern is arriving safely at my destination”

Which is best accomplished by staying right

3. “ and doing my best to ensure others are able to do the same by driving predictably and responsibly”

Which is best done by staying right, not by self-appointing yourself the keeper of the speed limit in the left lane.

As Rabbi Hillel said in 110BCE (parphrased by a later, more famous, personage) “A tyrant sees the mote in his neighbor’s eye, then hits him over the head with the beam in his own.”

I think we should all be concerned with our own driving.

And stay right.

There are an awful lot of hot tempers on this thread. God knows, I know what traffic is like...if you’re in the left lane on I-95 to Philly and going anything under 80, everyone is on your bumper (and the speed limit is 55).

As for myself, some years ago I gave up driving “with my hair on fire”. I’ve had it with the aggravation. Nowadays I just set the cruise at speed limit + 3 and lope along in the right lane. I find that I arrive at my destination a lot less stressed as a result.

You’re wasting your time with these guys. Now Jewbacca is convinced God is on his side. They do not see how their actions endanger others because they are certain they are right.
