I suppose we can call or write to our local PBS stations and tell them the donations stop if this kind of crap is going on.

Imagine how groucy Oscar would be if he had to work to stay on the air and then had to pay 40% taxes on any income he managed to make.

Sesame Street has always been a creepy kids show. After all, Evil Bert hangs out with Osama Bin Laden.

It’s ironic that Oscar the Grouch, the archetypical liberal (foul mood, surviving on trash, homeless), would be portrayed as watching Fox News. If the producers of Sesame Street were more interested in realism, they’d portray him as watching the fringe leftist cable shows that constantly harp on how rich white men are oppressing all the downtrodden minorities, yada, yada, yada, feeding Oscar’s resentment against “the man.”

Your tax dollars at work. Your children at risk. Sesame Street costs $20 million per year to make and takes in over $100 million per year in merchandise sales. It also receives institutional and government money (28% of its revenue in 2007-2008). Not bad for a “non-profit.” Guess what? The rest of us pay the taxes that Sesame Street doesn’t.

Sesame Street has always been a marxist propaganda outlet.

I would think this an opportunity for Fox Broadcast to feature some wholesome, conservative, children-oriented programming. Maybe even start a new cable channel for children’s programming that parents could feel safe with. Conservative households could then block the other channels.

As a kid growing up in the 70’s and early 80’s, I truly disliked Sesame Street. A 9 year old back then didn’t know the words “political correctness” but I always felt that something was wrong/weird with that show.

I think folks are writing more into this than is there, they got a CNN guy to be a guest star and wrote a parody story line around it.

Have you ever watched Sesame Street? If not, I suggest you go catch some of their “MONSTERPIECE THEATER” skits, they are great parodies that kids laugh at for one reason and adults do for an entirely different one.

Sadly SS has lost a lot of its edge from when it started 30+ years ago in that area, and especially since Henson died (but that’s the muppets in general) but I am not getting jumping ugly at a Sesame Street parodies.

My daughter is almost 2 and can’t sit through 1 episode of Sesame Street. We tried but she is totally bored with it. Her morning fave’s include: Blue’s Clues, Ni Hao Khilan, Jack’s Big Music Show, Wow Wow Wubbzy, Yo Gabba Gabba, Dora, Diego, and The Wonder Pets.

Wow Wow Wubbzy is her favorite hands down. We love Nick Jr. because there are no commercials and all of the programming is geared towards learning different things in each program plus there are puzzles, songs, and really effective stuff on there.

We also own Baby Can Read...the DVD’s and books...best thing you could ever buy your child.

The rest of the time she is out playing or in the pool. No PBS brainwashing here...we tried to give it a shot but just couldn’t do it. I won’t even begin with how bored she was with Mr. Rogers re-runs.

Never liked SS, why watch that gay crap when cool shows like Speed Racer and Ultraman were on. SS had absolutely nothing that would interest a young red-blooded American boy, unless it was a latin American boy.

Neither of my children liked it either. Unless one was living in the Bronx, SS would seem like another planet.
