‘Sesame Street’ Trashes Fox News (PBS)

Add one more soldier to the Left’s war on Fox News: Oscar the Grouch.

Last week, in a re-broadcast of an episode that originally aired two years ago, Oscar starts his own news network, GNN (Grouchy News Network). An irate viewer calls in to berate him that the news is not grouchy enough:

“I am changing the channel. From now on I am watching ‘Pox’ News. Now there is a trashy news show.”

Later , Anderson Cooper from 4th place CNN, guest stars as a reporter for GNN. “Walter Cranky” and “Dan Rather-Not” — Muppets representing real-life liberal news personalities — But no affectionate nicknames for Fox News personalities;

If Mom and Dad watch cable news, it’s better than 50/50 they watch “POX News.” So what gives? PBS — a network partially funded with my tax dollars — has the right to tell my kids that their parents watch “trashy” news?

The message is clear, I can’t even sit my kids in front of “Sesame Street” without having to worry about the Left attempting to undermine my authority. And don’t tell me, “If you don’t like it change the channel.” There are no channels left! It’s everywhere. Just last week I had Obama’s service and volunteerism promoted on every single major network, including Disney and Nickelodeon.

..But the difference now is that a Saul Alinsky-trained, William Ayers-influenced, Annenberg Challenge Board Member is now our President, and his influence, tactics and worldview (not to mention the power of your federal tax dollars through NPR, PBS and the NEA) now influence our culture at such an accelerated rate that the frog is no longer on a slow simmer but at a rapid boil.

"I would think this an opportunity for Fox Broadcast to feature some wholesome, conservative, children-oriented programming." They've got that already, it's called Family Guy.

simple solutions for complex problems:
Friends don’t let Friends Watch TV, unless it’s FOX NEWS.

I think folks are writing more into this than is there, they got a CNN guy to be a guest star and wrote a parody story line around it.

Have you ever watched Sesame Street? If not, I suggest you go catch some of their “MONSTERPIECE THEATER” skits, they are great parodies that kids laugh at for one reason and adults do for an entirely different one.

Sadly SS has lost a lot of its edge from when it started 30+ years ago in that area, and especially since Henson died (but that’s the muppets in general) but I am not getting jumping ugly at a Sesame Street parodies.

Sesame streets downward spiral began the day Snuffalupagus was no longer Big Bird’s “imaginary friend” and was seen by the rest of the cast.

My daughter is almost 2 and can’t sit through 1 episode of Sesame Street. We tried but she is totally bored with it. Her morning fave’s include: Blue’s Clues, Ni Hao Khilan, Jack’s Big Music Show, Wow Wow Wubbzy, Yo Gabba Gabba, Dora, Diego, and The Wonder Pets.

Wow Wow Wubbzy is her favorite hands down. We love Nick Jr. because there are no commercials and all of the programming is geared towards learning different things in each program plus there are puzzles, songs, and really effective stuff on there.

We also own Baby Can Read...the DVD’s and books...best thing you could ever buy your child.

The rest of the time she is out playing or in the pool. No PBS brainwashing here...we tried to give it a shot but just couldn’t do it. I won’t even begin with how bored she was with Mr. Rogers re-runs.

Amen. Snuffy’s voice also changed as well. What was the thinking on changing him from an imaginary friend to a visible friend?

Grandson dropped by for a visit - NO battery operated toys, NO TV, NO swing set....so I improvised. Took him outside and taught him to play golf with a stick and tennis balls!!!

We had to rake leaves first!

Time to get our children back playing IN the real dirt - not passively watching the detritus that passes for education on TV and in the NEA classrooms.

sod;)

Imagine if Seseme Street programming on state run Public Broadcasting System was funded by the sale of licensed Seseme Street toys, clothing, and other products rather than taxpayer funds.

Didn’t Snuffalupagus work in the Clinton White House and then move over to ABCDisney News?

I always felt that something was wrong/weird with that show.

I always suspected that Bert and Ernie were a couple.

Never liked SS, why watch that gay crap when cool shows like Speed Racer and Ultraman were on. SS had absolutely nothing that would interest a young red-blooded American boy, unless it was a latin American boy.

Neither of my children liked it either. Unless one was living in the Bronx, SS would seem like another planet.

Well he always was REAL, just the other folks on Sesame Street always seemed to be looking the other way when he was around. I don’t know what the motivation to make him visble was, maybe after so many years of setting up ways to make sure Big Bird saw him but no one else, they got tired of the storyline.
