Pull the damn restrictor plates off and let ‘em run 220 if they think they can. If you really want to keep them slowed down under 200, then mandate a less powerful engine for those tracks—something that would let them run flat-out around 200 like they do now, but would still provide power for passing—instead of choking the V8s with a plate.

Every quick-fix solution NASCAR has tried has only made Daytona and Talladega MORE dangerous to race. Every year, it’s not “who’s got the fastest car” or “who’s got the best strategy,” it’s “who can avoid the Big One?”

That was DaleJr's solution but Michael Waltrip said he was wrong [on twitter] I've asked him to splain that but nothing yet. He's still trying to explain why he rode around the back of the field all day Sunday.
