The definitions have been so manipulated and confused over the years that most people no longer realize what is happening. The only thing the KKK had in common with the Nazis is racism, there isn't any valid reason to call them both "right wing".

To those under the boot heel the fine distinctions between the various flavors of tyranny are hard to see, tyranny is tyranny!

I don't believe in "benevolent tyranny", the perks that tyrants dole out to their subjects are a poor substitute for freedom.

The article is correct in pointing out that fascism and communism had a great deal in common. He is incorrect when he claims they were identical twins.

Fascism was a very odd combination of political tendencies, a good many of which were self-cntradictory and which varied greatly by the particular country. It never really developed a coherent ideology in the same way socialism/communism did.

The relationship has perhaps been best expressed this way. Socialism is a Christian heresy. Communism is socialism carried to its logical extreme. Fascism in a socialist heresy.

True believers and heretics very often hate each other more than anybody else.
