Anything you can think of, any direction in which you might point me...all of it...would be appreciated.

Even if it's just an idea-starter.

And maybe you've already got something like this set up.

Thanks!

Unless I'm missing something, you could use an earphone/mic headset in conjunction with the webcam. You should be able to extend the cord length as needed.

You get what you pay for, but try this site. Looks like older Nady gear which is OK for your use (doesn't suffer abuse at the hands or rock bands well, IME).

So, you are going into the ‘mic’ input on your computer?

There are many wireless mics for less that $100. The hand helds are cheapest and the lapel mics or "Madonna" headsets are a little more expensive but hands off.

The receiver plugs into your PC with a standard mini jack. The Mic transmits to the receiver with a range typicaly of 50 feet. Keep the receiver above the level of the mic. Just add batteries.

I have had really good luck with the Shure brand. We have used them for 15 years at our school for football games, assemblies etc. without problems.

Logitech makes one:

Logitech Clearchat Wireless USB Headset with Microphone

With this basic form in mind, a little research could get you to the price point you seek...though $53.99 ain't bad.

Buy a Class 2 or class 2.1 bluetooth dongle for the PC used for the web conferencing. About $2 to $35 delivered. Look for direct deals from the factories in Hong Kong. Almost all the dongles sold in the US come from one of a half dozen factories in Hong Kong and Guangzhou, except for one manufacturer in the US.
absolute cheapest: Price: $2.39

Make the manager provide his own bluetooth earpiece he uses with his cell phone. pair the device to the PC, download any of the free sound mixer software for windows if needed to normalize the volume between BT mic and other mics.

meritline.com also sells very cheap wireless mics (without BT)

Thanks for the replies.

I’ve got a couple of ideas to work with from this.
