I don’t actually have a problem with the message. Plenty of children could use a mentor. Look at all the good things Big Brothers/Sisters does or Scouts or youth groups. They all involve mentoring young people. I don’t see this as a political issue.

I don't have a problem with the message either. I just think it's odd that for well over a year I've been surrounded by Michelle's face on magazine covers, and puff pieces in newspapers and on TV shows, and everyone is always talking about Michelle as a fashion icon, and a gardener, and this and that ...

And in all that time I've never seen a story indicating that she had the slightest interest in mentoring.

Guess I missed it.
