Daniel East and his sister, Tevyn, were driving at night along Interstate 80 near the Nevada-Utah earlier this month, when their car slammed into a coyote that scurried in their path, reported Rex Features.
Believing there was no way the wild animal could survive the 75 mph collision, the pair kept driving for eight more hours to their destination, where they finally inspected the damage to their car.

It was only after an additional six hundred miles that they finally stopped to find why their engine was howling.
If it had been a mouse type of squeak, they would have ignored it until next month.

You got that right! Skinned inside out and plasticized by bumper. No way, No how. I have well over a million road miles that agree this is BS.
I could probably post pictoral proof but why?

When I went back to move my sister in law from Saginaw to Bakersafield I went from Amaeillo to Fort Wort without stoping.
My diesel truck had 1,200 miles of fuel.
I don’t remember the exact time on that leg but the total trip from Los Angeles to Saginaw was 37 hours.

Common sense! I know what happens when you hit anything bigger than a bird at 75 mph! Just a made up feel good story!!

They don't GO anywhere. There are coyotes living in the heart of Houston, the 4th largest city in the US. If they have any kind of cover like a creek, bayou or park they can live in very close proximity to humans. They prey on rats, cats and small dogs as well as garbage cans. I saw one in the middle of the day in the middle of Tanglewood, an inner city neighborhood. I had heard they were here and now I have seen one with my own eyes.

We have them during the day all the time in June/July also. Plus at night. They are like clockwork. In the winter they travel across the field in the snow. Guess it is not a good idea to be near them where you are in the heart of Houston. Wow. I will have to ask my cousin who lives in Houston too. Stay safe.
To: therut
I do believe you can hunt them in Colorado as well. Not real sure of that though. I know it is the food chain and all but...always makes me feel bad.
To: Ditter
10 years ago, they were rarely heard of here in rural NC. 1 or 2 a season were seen or shot by deer hunters, but now, they are everywhere! They are about to completely eliminate the rabbit population, and you never hear or see a quail anymore. They will eat anything they find, and are now preying on the deer herd, especially the fawns! Now we cant get rid of them fast enough, so a feel good story about a coyote doesn't work for us that knows them!!

Your cousin will know where the Galleria is located in Houston, tell her the coyote I saw was a 5 minute drive from there.

Amen.
It never hurts to stop and find out.
In the event you have hit something, for God’s sake at least put it out of its misery.

While visiting Big Bend National park a few weeks ago, my wife was very happy to spot four roadrunners. No coyote though. Except for one at the Grand Canyon...and a few dead ones on the road.
