The people of the 23rd Congressional District of New York are ready to shake things up, and Doug Hoffman is coming on strong as Election Day approaches! He needs our help now.

The votes of every member of Congress affect every American, so it's important for all of us to pay attention to this important Congressional campaign in upstate New York. I am very pleased to announce my support for Doug Hoffman in his fight to be the next Representative from New York's 23rd Congressional district. It's my honor to endorse Doug and to do what I can to help him win, including having my political action committee, SarahPAC, donate to his campaign the maximum contribution allowed by law.

Why would a Conservative vote for Scozzafava? Some liberal Republicans might, but they need to be educated or change parties. Or we might as well let them have the elite RINO party since their leaders are too afraid of upsetting those across the aisle.

No more RINOs, no more DIABLOs.

We vote for the best candidate. In this case Scozzafava is actually more liberal than the Democrat.

Go Hoffman, Go Sarah

Alright Sarah. Some FReeper was asking about 2 days ago why Sarah hadn’t said anything about this race, and here she is saying it.

The GOP will insist on running RINOS- and the dems will win. I'm just saying its a no win situation for those of us who are truly conservatives.

I hope all you bed-wetters and whiners will shut up now about Sarah not working off of your timetable and not jetting to every hamlet to endorse every little conservative you support. I think she’s proven her political instincts are just as refined as you believe yours are...bunch of typists.

You are correct; we are in the battle for the preservation of the union as it was designed. The establishment GOP is on the wrong side of that battle.

Do we cede to the traitor in our ranks with the reasoning that he will kill us slower? Or do we eliminate the enemy and fortify our own position?

Could be the beginning of a Really Big Stuff.

Howabout: bye-bye Republicrats, hello Conservative Party of the USA.
++++++++++++++++++++

I love the enthusiasm. But I must say, the history of 3rd parties is not good in the USA - and even with much fervor like with Ross Perot...the don’t work unless there is a massive shock to the body politic like the lead up to the Civil War. Are we at that point? Perhaps. But what if we’re not? Are we willing to wait 20 or 40 years, experimenting with a national 3rd party - when we could reclaim the Republican party to its Conservative roots?

Here are the facts. In the history of the United States, not a single third party has come close to winning the presidency, only 7 3rd parties have even won a single state’s electoral votes and only 5 third parties have won even 10% of the vote.

I’m willing to listen to your ideas about how to make a national 3rd party work - but I don’t see it.

Wouldn’t it be better to pursue 3rd parties where established - like NY and push Conservatives in R primaries in other places.

Clean up, clean out, and reclaim the Grand Old Party.

but it’s fantastic that Palin has the guts to buck the establishment in this race.

Rumor has it Romney, Huck, Pawlenty and others were all standing on a ridge with their fingers to the wind.
+++++++++++++++++

Right - great signs from Sarah - as usual. LOL about the others - I can just picture it.

yes its cool...awesome and all that.... but the democrats going to win as the conservative vote gets split. Its going to play out that way in all the races and we will lose our chance to win in 2010....I am afraid.
+++++++++++++++++

You’re speaking from fear. Hoffman may not win - but he just may. Look at the polls. Why would any Conservative in that district vote for these positions that Scozzafava holds?:

Pro choice
In favor of gay marriage
In favor of Cap and Trade (I need to check my sources on this. Newt said she opposed this)
In favor of Employee Free Choice Act (Card Check)
In favor of the Stimulus
In favor of Bank Bailouts

If the dim bulb wins because we’re standing up against this RINO crap, then so be it. If an R like Scozzafava, et al, win - what good is it. They force us into the Arlen Specter debacle throughout the party. It forces the whole party leftward. Long term, that’s no victory at all, and it can be argued that this is why we’re in our current leadership dilemma. We’ve allowed this to happen, in the name of victory.

That said, we Conservatives are more than capable of making these choices on a case by case basis, and of approaching this strategy intelligently!

Hoffman and Rubio v. Crist, for instance have chances to win. Also, in most cases, I agree with those who make the case that it’s better to have an 80% approval from the American Conservative Union for some semi moderate R than for some ‘conservative’ blue dog at say 43% ACU ratings. That said, we should oppose that 80%er with a 90+%er in the primary.

We need to use these LEVERS to force the leadership of the GOP to recongnize our reality.

This is no different, IMHO, than standing outside CNN on 10/17 and screaming - ‘Can you hear us now?! Can you see us now?!’ This is also what we’re saying to the GOP RINOs in both houses of Congress and our muchly infested RINO leadership crew in the national GOP ranks.

Disregard us at your peril.

Don’t react in fear to this (if I might be so bold with you.) Be proactive and get involved bringing Conservatives to all your local R races. The time is NOW!

Go Tea Partiers! Let’s roll!

Just sent $50 to the good Mr. Hoffman.
+++++++++++++

Did you hear Hoffman on Beck's radio program a day or two ago?

Beck: What would you have done if you'd found Van Jones in your admin?

Hoffman: I'd have fired him.

Beck: In the middle of the night on the weekend?

Hoffman: Publicly.

Only if we don’t force the R party back toward its conservative base. If we do, it’s a win/win/win.

Win for us, win for the Rs (that is to say Conservatives and moderates as the resulting party will be much stronger electorally as Reagan proved) and a win for America.

Word has it Steve Forbes, whom Mayor Palin supported for president in 1996, is also going to endorse Hoffman.

It's the “force the R party back toward its conservative base” part that will be the challenge. In the election in NY it failed miserably (Newt etc) and I just wonder how many defeats we will endure before the Republicans get it. Will it cost us 2010 ...which we desperately need to stop the OBAMA train!

Don’t wanna third party. Just wanna replace what the Repewbics have become. Sorta like what we did from 76 to 1980 only maybe a little more dramatic given that the “Republican” brand is now probably easier to just replace than fix.
