The Green Bay mayor is asking the public for suggestions to "tastefully" welcome back Vikings quarterback Brett Favre when he returns for a Nov. 1 game against the Packers.
According to the city's Web site, Mayor Jim Schmitt is asking fans to send in ideas and he'll select his four favorite ideas.
The site says one suggestion calls for making the world's largest waffle in the shape of No. 4, Favre's jersey number. It's a playful jab at Favre's indecisive approach to retirement.

How about firing the coach, selling the team, and giving the game to Minnesota solely to repent for their stupidity.
I’m so over Favre.
Maybe a crow pie for Ted Thompson..
Maybe they should honor him somehow.
Or maybe not.
Let’s have a press conference to announce they will.
Hm. No. I’m not sure. I haven’t decided yet.
Hah!!
Have the mayor walk up and ask Brett to come to the microphone.
Tell Brett that the city thought long and hard about how to honor him.
Then tell him they haven't decided yet how they're going to honor him, but they'll get back to him later. Maybe. Then walk off and leave Brett standing there......
Bret Farve: a selfish youngster with a big heart and a strong family. It is difficult to hate him. It’s too bad that he still does not play for the Packers.
Farve and the Vikings are playing in Pittsburgh next week. Maybe Big Ben and the Steelers can give them one in the lost column before they go to Green Bay.
It's a weird year for Steeler football. Like the Poles are reversed. The offense has been kicking butt and winning games, and the defense has been trying their best to give them away in the 4th quarter. Must be global warming or something.
With the media darling Farve in town, maybe the Steeler defense will stick around for the fourth quarter for a change.
The Viking’s defense won’t stop the Steelers.....
They almost gave the Ravens game away yesterday....
Flacco is the real deal.....
Yes he is. No sign of a Sophmore Slup as yet. That had to be a tough loss for the Ravens and if I weren't a Steeler fan I would almost feel bad for them. But I don't. ;~))
Say whatever about Favre but the dude still throwing the pigskin having fun and getting a royal paycheck too.
He’s got a nice life whether he plays or retires.
Flacco has my respect. Not many QBs would have survived the beating he took yesterdy.....
Ignore Favre. That would be the worst thing Green Bay could do to him. Don’t play in to his ego, just turn him into an afterthought. That would hurt Favre more than anything.
The 49ers, Packers, and Ravens aren't.
However, if the ungrateful sumbitch... goes on to win the game, open up the bar, pile up all up all those usless #4s on the 50 yard line, add the letters from his Ring of Honor spot and have a knee knocking. three plus sheets to the wind Bye-Bye Brett bonfire and cheese wheel riding rodeo!
Ignore Favre. That would be the worst thing Green Bay could do to him. Dont play in to his ego, just turn him into an afterthought.
