I seldom fire my 1911 because I don’t like to bend over and pick up brass. 45 Colt is good. S&W 357 is good. I would prefer the 1911 to fight my way to something bigger.

The animation doesn't show the round jamming at the forcing cone as my Colt did before I got fed up and got rid of it. The 1911's are notorious for being picky about ammunition used in them.
Buy a Springfield Armory XD-45. They function flawlessly with ANY kind of ammo, including hand loads.
