Here is newly released home video by the family of "Balloon Boy" Falcon Heene of the liftoff of the balloon from the backyard yesterday. You see the father, Richard Heene, doing a countdown, and then the balloon takes off with the father appearing agitated. The father was close to the balloon as it took off. . . . (VIDEO)

NO ladders around for boy to get to attic, how did he get up there? Parents put him up there and then hide the ladder? this is so strange, I wish media would not put this family on TV again. Finish the investigation, arrest and fine daddy and quit reporting about it. Call in Child Protective Services.

I don’t know if it is a hoax, I think not. BUT the real HOAX was the one the news media played on all of us. MISSINFORMATION. There never was a basket. The kid had been climbing in & out of the bottom of the thing. MUST BE A DOOR. They said that is where the battery etc. is stored.
You fell for the media trap, in that you believed what they said. THEY LIE

re: calling the FAA before 911
I think he knew full well the kid wasn’t on it, but also knew full well he would be very guilty of several things for launching that balloon. It would provide a very poor primary return on ATC radar and it’s not the sort of thing a pilot is looking for, or expects to see, on approach to Denver or some other area airport! Just imagine the liability if the balloon was struck by an aircraft!

Just where in the hell is the kid supposed to be in the balloon???? There’s no “cockpit”, the thing is sealed.
If he’s such a “scientist” what would make him think his kid could find a way in that contraption and just how much helium would it take to carry away a 6 year old.
BS meter off the charts.

Just so I’m clear on this. Your use of the phrase “Super Dad” is ironic, right?

In a possibly related story, an attention starved Myth Romney is believed to be stranded in a balloon flying toward New York City. The balloon should’ve decended by now, but is being held aloft by the conservative sounding hot air coming from Mr Romney’s mouth.

In an
exclusive interview, the
Gawker states that Robert Thomas spent several months earlier this year working on developing a reality science TV show to pitch to networks
the "show," Thomas says, that Falcon was referring to when he told CNN "We did it for the show." Among the ideas that Heene, Thomas and two others came up with for their reality TV proposal and one that he says most intrigued Heene involved a weather balloon modified to look like a UFO which they would launch in an attempt to drum up media interest in both the Heene family and the series he was desperate to get on the air. Still, Thomas never imagined that Heene would involve his six-year-old son in what he is certain was a "global media hoax" to further Richard Heene's own celebrity.

Just where in the hell is the kid supposed to be in the balloon???? There’s no “cockpit”, the thing is sealed. There is the cylindrical structure on the bottom. at about 4' diameter and 2' high it's big enough to hold a 6 year old kid. And a simple flap opening section section on the side could give access.
Weight is another matter - allowing for stucture weight useful load would be in the range 10-20 lbs (and I suspect on the low end of the range.
I'm begining to wonder if the joax got out fo hand, that the balloon was only supposed to stay up for a short time. Heene sent it aloft with a sandbag as ballast and a slow leak to being it down shortly after take off. But the thing started to swing, the sandbag rolled out ot the access flap, and the UFO was freed to travel across three counties.
