I couldn’t make this stuff up.

** Too little is known of the sinking to enable any safe conclusions to be drawn. Where was the Royal Oak when the sinking occurred? Was she in deep or narrow waters? Was she properly screened by destroyers or other light craft, as she should have been? Was airplane protection attempted, or was air observation made impossible by a gale? Was she sunk by one torpedo or by several?

If these guys were enrolled in World War II + 70 Years they would have had answers to all these questions two days ago.
