Around 12 years ago I was brand new to the internet. On an AOL message board I was in one of my first online debates with a leftist liberal. I cant recall what we debated on, but sometime during the conversation he claimed that the President voted on legislation and the Congress signed legislation into law. I corrected him, pointing out that it was congress that voted on legislation and the President signed (or vetoed) legislation. He called me an idiot and said that I didnt know what I was talking about.

I couldnt believe that someone could be this dumb and for a minute there I thought I was debating politics with a 10 year old. I looked up his AOL member profile and was stunned to find that he was 52 years old.

One of my first on-line debates was on an AOL message board too. I decided to go to one after 9/11 to start being more outspoken and involved in debates. This guy kept saying how terrible the U.S. was. Basically saying that we provoked 9/11 and deserved it. He was a muslim living in the U.S. so I asked him why he lives here if he hates it so much and thinks it’s such a terrible place. His answer was seared into my brain forever “to kill you”. Only a few people on that board confronted him. The rest were his liberal allies or fellow jihadists or something I guess and said nothing. I knew there and then the level of hatred coming from the left. They hate us more than they do the terrorists, make no mistake about it.
