Will the Jacksonville Jaguars leave Florida?

Are the days of the Jacksonville Jaguars numbered?

Officials in Los Angles announced Thursday that they're one step closer to building a new $800M football stadium.

It'd be an enticing pull for the struggling Jags.

"It's going to be very interesting to see what happens," says WDBO sports director Scott Anez. "They're just not selling tickets right now."

The games aren't on TV in Jacksonville - blacked out because of empty seats at the stadium. And even though team ownership swears they're staying, Anez assures that plenty of owners would be dying to relocate to the nation's second largest media market.

"The city of Los Angeles has been the Holy Grail as far as a place to relocate an NFL franchise," he said.

If the Jags can't sell tickets and L.A. overcomes hurdles in the way of a new stadium, pressure will mount for the team to leave town.

The Chargers were only in LA for one or two years, what history. They could only draw around 12,000 in LA.

The Raiders didn’t last long in LA either and moved back.

Yes, but Orlando is little more than a momentary way point for most so there is little loyalty fan wise.
Any team that could locate to L.A. COULD be financially enormous.
Orlando like Vegas is not a good major league city, too few long term locals to support the team.

Even here in Dallas, a lot of people are from somewhere else, including yours truly, and we still root for the teams we grew up with, in my case the Detroit Lions

Never forget when I was about 4 or 5 going to see a Tiger double header with my dad.
Second game lasted about 18 innings.
Jake Woods, Rockie Colavito, Norm Cash, Al Kaline.
What a beautiful sight.
I lived in Walled lake for a couple years back then.

I was in Ann Arbor in 68 when they won it all.

Did you happen to see the HBO Documentary on the 68 Tigers and how it helped mend the racial tensions after the riots. I didn’t appreciate then just what that World Series meant, and it’s a shame Detroit couldn’t build on it in subsequent years.

It’s just too bad when you look at it.
Small market teams like say Cleveland or Buffalo, how can they compete with big money markets like N.Y. or L.A.?
A dieing city like Detroit?

Back in the 90’s I had a part time job working for a market research firm and once we did surveys for the Jacksonville Jags. I’m sure the NFL would like to move someone to Jacksonville.
