Are the days of the Jacksonville Jaguars numbered?
Officials in Los Angles announced Thursday that they're one step closer to building a new $800M football stadium.
It'd be an enticing pull for the struggling Jags.
"It's going to be very interesting to see what happens," says WDBO sports director Scott Anez. "They're just not selling tickets right now."
The games aren't on TV in Jacksonville - blacked out because of empty seats at the stadium. And even though team ownership swears they're staying, Anez assures that plenty of owners would be dying to relocate to the nation's second largest media market.
"The city of Los Angeles has been the Holy Grail as far as a place to relocate an NFL franchise," he said.
If the Jags can't sell tickets and L.A. overcomes hurdles in the way of a new stadium, pressure will mount for the team to leave town.

Nobody is going to relocate to Los Angeles. Most likely, it'll be San Antonio, Texas.
Three teams in Florida is asinine, but at least Jacksonville has some native Floridians.
Most people in SA are hardcore Cowboys fans, just as when the Cardinals relocated to Arizona, they'll find that those fans don't just easily switch allegiance to the local team.
I thought they left pro football before yesterday’s game!
The age of taxpayer funded stadiums is over. The twin peak was in NYC with two new billion dollar stadiums for Mets and Yanks. Back in 1968 Shea Stadium (Mets) was built for $20 million and I’ll bet it was privately paid for
Miami is the last sucker city. They just shelled out for a new Marlins baseball stadium
...that will be half-full unless the Yankees or the Cubs play there, and 3/4ths of the fans will be rooting for the visitors.
David Modell the crackhead?
Here in Indy we’re choking on the aftertaste of the Colts new $700+ mil palace. It was built on the premise of “nothing’s too good for the taxpayers”.
The operating costs are much higher than projected.
The city is laying off minions in an attempt to cut costs.
Interestingly, the Colts owner popped up as #347 on the richest people list this year.
To my knowledge, the sports team is his only significant source of income.
Orlando won’t work. Too close to Tampa and Miami.
I respect and admire Jack Delrio, but I wonder how long he’s got, and how long the Jags have here.
(Posting from the Jax area.)
Right its a farce. Can you believe the Marlins got to rob the taxpayers for a stadium AFTER the bubble ended? Amazing
America’s biggest welfare queens are these sports team owners
You gotta love those USC cheerleaders, Mr. Adams.
and, living in Jacksonville, I DO NOT WANT TO EVEN THINK ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED IN SEATTLE.
Interestingly, the Colts owner popped up as #347 on the richest people list this year.......
That’s Bob Irsay’s son
Irsay came up the hard way
All the original NFL owners were amazing blue collar self made men. I believe Bob Iray was in HVAC in Baltimore
If NYC can build a Mets stadium for 1 billion it should only be half that in Indianapolis. 700 million is high
Actually Pop Irsays business was in Chicago.
I’ll give AJ Foyt’s grandson some props, he was smart enough to marry Jimmy’s daughter. Someday he’s gonna be a rich man.
We call them “SongGirls”.

Two days before Thanksgiving, in the bar of Chicago’s prestigious Tavern Club, 63-year-old Robert Irsay is fighting yet another battle with the truth. ‘’I’ve been a winner all my life,’’ he says firmly, fueled by half a dozen screwdrivers during the 2 1/2-hour lunchless luncheon. His white hair is neatly groomed, his face a little flushed, his eyes lightly glazed. ‘’When a man takes one dollar and turns it into $50 million, he’s a winner. I’d like to turn the Colts into a Super Bowl winner in my lifetime. That’s what I have left. To win a ring.’’
You are right about old man Irsay. Chicago was where he made his money. Moving the Colts to Indianapolis makes much more sense now
I don’t know how much he pays Bill Polian but it must be a ton. Without that guy, Irsay Jr couldn’t pour p*ss out of a boot with the toe cut off and directions on the heel.
