MEXICO CITY Apolinario Chile Pixtun is tired of being bombarded with frantic questions about the Mayan calendar supposedly "running out" on Dec. 21, 2012. After all, it's not the end of the world. Or is it?

It's always been my opinion that their calendar ends on 2012 because the rock wasn't big enough to go to 2013.

Mayas = plural noun referring to a people.
Mayan = adjective form.
Mayans = not a word.

The general term for the astronomical realignment is 'Great Year'. It is a rather ubiquitous concept. Take Wikipedia with a grain of salt of course but 200 similar myths...:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_year.
I'm not aware of any major references to this Mayan event, someone will correct me of course, besides the single relief monument six. The monument is mostly missing and what little remains has a significant amount of information that's simply illegible.

This has developed into an urban legend. 2012 is also the return of the Anunaki of Sumerian legend on the same date, with their planet Nibiru which is on a long elliptical orbit which is suppose to be only visible from the South Pole.
Planetary slavery and destruction from reptilian aliens will result on that date. Aliens who have genetically engineered us 10000 years ago when they ruled over us.
So I guess I should cash in my 401K? (sarc)
It might make a good horror movie.
My theory is that is the date the people at the CERN Large Hadron acclerator in France will crank up and swallow the Earth into a man made black hole.

The Anunaki have taken the White House.

Best to stock up on the Kahlua and go out with a bang.

This is silly. If we are going to calculate the date of the end of the world based on which calendar runs out of number room first, then my money is on 01/19/2038 at 03:14:07 UTC.

Pixtun is a ‘Reformed’ Mayan not an Orthodox Mayan. So take his comments for what they are worth.

Actually according to Zecharia Sitchin (Earth Chronicles), humans were genetically engineered around 400,000 years ago to mine gold which the Nefilim used to cover their world. The Anunnaki were the servants of the Nefilim and likely genetically engineered to survive on Earth, perhaps because the Nefilim themselves could not.
They only ruled over certain parts of the Earth - primarily the middle east.
Neither were reptilian species. The Reptilians are suppose to rule a vast empire beneath the Earth.
