This is the first time I've posted a thread here, so forgive me if I've screwed anything up. I did a search and didn't see this anywhere, and thought it would be of interest to many here. I don't get a chance to fish as much as I like, but I enjoy the heck out of it when I do get the chance. When I see our gubmint bowing to UN edicts and "guidelines," that's a big red flag for me, especially when it concerns "the environment." Wouldn't want to scare the fishies or anything, or god forbid, eat them!

“Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime”

How can they control people in they feed themselves.

“The report makes it clear that future authority for implementing the policy for coastal and INLAND waters will fall under White House jurisdiction with a new National Ocean Council comprised of over 20 federal agencies at Cabinet Secretary or Deputy Secretary level..... “People who simply want to take their kids fishing on public waters deserve better from their government,” he added.”

We ALL deserve better. Not sure why they would stop at the Great Lakes. How about Lake Mille Lacs? Or Round Lake? (Doesn’t everyone have at least two Round Lakes near them?)

And no, it will not be limited to the Great Lakes.

We have a Great Lakes czar now here in Michigan, and I’m not sure what his role is supposd to be. I’m concerned for our lakes, our farmland, too.

OK everbody, don’t buy any fishing or hunting licsens in 2010. Listen for the various states moan about how much ‘’revenue’’ they are out as a result.

Marine Life Protection Act Initiative

Mixed reactions to new marine protection zones

Between State, Federal , and world gov’t we are nothing but indentured servants.
