David Letterman's sensational sex scandal has triggered a $300 million divorce war between the 62-year-old talk-show host and his outraged wife Regina, say sources close to the star.
The couple - who lived together for years before marrying March 19 - are fighting over everything from his extensive property holdings to custody of their son Harry, 6, according to insiders.
"It's become a real battle," revealed a Late Show insider.
"Regina is humiliated, and she wants to get even with David for his public admission he cheated on her repeatedly during their 23-year relationship."
Letterman stunned his fans when he confessed on-air to having sex with female employees and revealed he had become the victim of attempted blackmail.
The ENQUIRER was told the kinky late-night host maintained a fully equipped love nest, likes to play "dress up" - and even had a girlfriend parade around with a set of pom-poms pretending to be a cheerleader.

I'm inclined to agree. But you need to consider two things...1)do a google search on John Cleese.A California divorce court recently just about cleaned him out at the age of 70.And 2)New York is *not* a "no fault" state. So infidelity *can* be held against you in divorce court...and he's publicly *admitted* to it.No private detectives needed. She won't get the entire $300 million but she just might get a very large chunk of it...well over 50%.
I am sure there is much more to the Dave story. He would not have handled it the way he did if this was all the dirt there is.
But, for now, good luck with that, Dave!
You are soooo right.
And Halderman probably has all kinds of records showing the negotiations for the script and so on.
Ain’t against the law to write a screenplay.
Remember “Primary Colors”?
Hell, even Madonna supposedly tried to pay her brother off not to write a tell-all book about what a witch she is.
[It ain’t “cheating” if you aren’t married...]
I don’t know about Connecticut’s state laws but in a lot of states, if you present yourself to be married to the public, shared bank accounts, same mailing residence etc., you ARE married.
Slice and dice him, Regina and protect your child’s future.
And the rest of the staff should sue the net for a harrassing workplace environment, back wages for promotions given to the couch sluts, and so on.
Letterman want this man destroyed and completely humiliated which he accomplished. When the fact come out (which they will) the worm may turn.
Here’s what probably went down:
Halderman mentions to Dave he’s thinking of producing a screenplay about you-know-what.
Dave, for whatever reason, decides he’ll pay the guy $2M to buy the screenplay.
Halderman takes his money, but then, in a technicality he’s set up in the transaction/contract, retains the right to some version of the screenplay anyway.
Dave realizes he’s been had and goes to the police, whining about extortion.
To make his extortion charge stick, the police or his attorney advise him that he better ‘fess up on teevee. So he does and Halderman still has done nothing but try to sell him a screenplay and Regina is ticked to the point of $300M.
Sounds like Halderman thought this through and set it up verrry verrry carefully. Which means now the winning screenplay will be about how he scammed Dave without doing anything illegal!
Wow, if true, that would be brilliant, are you joking or do you think this could be possible, forget the screen play, I’m thinking a TV made for movie ...
LOL Now I am wondering who needs help.
Did he ever have a girlfriend dress up as a slutty flight attendant?
But he did not get the money. Sounds like H got the short end of the stick, well until the worm turns.
BOTH GUILTY!!!!!!

The same way that former Democrat Speaker of the House Jim Wright's bulk book sales of his flimsy pamphlet were considered campaign finance money laundering. On the surface it's claimed for one purpose, but deep down it is really for another purpose.

I hope so. I would guess the staff will rally round hoping he stays on TV. If he looks like he may get dumped by CBS then you know lawsuits will fly. Letterman is vermin.
I can think of some hilarious “gags” where Paul can ask Dave if the staff has been tested for Dave’s STDs.
I hope Halderman was that smart. Letterman would deserve it.
Wrong school.
Sorry Beaver, Haldeman came up with the "script" idea after the girlfriend left him.
