David Letterman's sensational sex scandal has triggered a $300 million divorce war between the 62-year-old talk-show host and his outraged wife Regina, say sources close to the star.
The couple - who lived together for years before marrying March 19 - are fighting over everything from his extensive property holdings to custody of their son Harry, 6, according to insiders.
"It's become a real battle," revealed a Late Show insider.
"Regina is humiliated, and she wants to get even with David for his public admission he cheated on her repeatedly during their 23-year relationship."
Letterman stunned his fans when he confessed on-air to having sex with female employees and revealed he had become the victim of attempted blackmail.
The ENQUIRER was told the kinky late-night host maintained a fully equipped love nest, likes to play "dress up" - and even had a girlfriend parade around with a set of pom-poms pretending to be a cheerleader.

What is your life and happiness worth? What is it worth if someone you love destroys it? Can you put a price tag on it?
Not sure if the misery, shame, embarrassment, etc. is worth any amount of money.
I am sure the girlfriends will step up and ask for something. After all there is 300 million on the table. Karma after all the pain and humiliation he gave Palin.
Don’t know, but that’s how Paul Shaffer & company have been billing themselves since becoming part of the Letterman show.
You have a child with a man without marrying him, and then wait 6 years before you do marry him - what do you THINK is going to happen?
How could he stand up there and tell all those jokes about others’ sex lives? I guess no one thinks it will cbe their turn to have all the dirty linen aired.
That's not exactly true. While it may not be adultery, it's still cheating - cheating on the relationship that they DID have.
Never **** (crap) where you eat.
regina, a true liberal would be tolerant of dave’s lifestyle choices.
OTOOH, you cannot withdraw more than $10,000 cash from a bank without the bank filing a Cash Transfer Report with the IRS. So many investigators from the FBI and IRS would descend on Letterman that the extortionists may as well ask for a personal check and declare the income.
Thanks for reminding me! That's the exact term he used on Sarah Palin. Between the two of them, the only one slutting around was Dave.
You want to raise red flags all over the place? Try and withdrawl $2,000,000 in cash. Then try and deposit it without a mark. How would you like to have to hide $2 Million dollars that is illegal and must be cleaned and taxed before you can deposit it. Or, you just pay taxes on it and forget it. Either way, there is a trail.
It would have been much smarter for him to purchase property for $2 and flip it for the property value if he was trying to lose a money trail. But there is paperwork there too.
The thing about extorsion is your subject must care about his reputation enough to let go of a minute amount of his fortune.
Does anyone really care what Dave’s antics cost him? This is a typical celebrity with some pompous egotistical views of himself. He tried the come clean route and is being waxed for it.
Screw them. Unless someone drops a sack of that money at my doorstep, I don’t care.
So you’re saying that this looks like extortion or doesn’t?
He sells Letterman a script for 2 million. How is that extortion?
Very possibly true. Both the ones who *were* promoted and those who *weren't* will...with or without justification...claim to have been harmed.
Not being a lawyer, one of the first questions I have is who gets to "go first" in court...his victims at World Wide Pants or his soon-to-be ex-wife? It seems to me that *that*,too, could prove to be a major battle.Unless, that is,there's a well established legal formula addressing such situations.
Extortion? Hmmmm? Without any details....Why would anyone announce to the world that he has had crazy affairs on his long time girlfriend and wife in order to support an extortion claim if their was not some larger more looming problem that necessitated it? If it was a love triangle thing, then he belongs in an institution and should not be qualified to run the business that he does. If he did it out of spite without considering the consequences of what he was doing, he has some serious mental problems and at least is a sociopath.
On its face, and without spending any time investigating a jesters record or details of this event, sure. I think he was being extorted. It wouldn't take much to change my mind as long as I didn't have to give it much thought.
Ok. I believe you. It's not extortion. Dave did not want to pay for the script. He wanted it for free. Well....not for free. It now seems it will cost him his wife, child and $300 Million. He is obviously a bad decision maker. LOL.
